The International Day of Women and Girls in Science is celebrated annually on February 11th. The day was established by the United Nations General Assembly in 2015 to promote full and equal access to and participation in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) for women and girls.

The key objectives of the day are:

Encouraging gender equality: Highlighting the importance of women's contributions to the scientific community.
