New VC for Bharathiar University

James Pitchai, assumed charge as the new Vice-Chancellor of Bharathiar University on Friday evening. University officials including the senate and syndicate members as well as other university staff welcomed him. Though the joining orders were issued a few days ago, Pitchai was waiting to receive an audience with Tamil Nadu chief minister J Jayalalithaa. University officials said that he met her on Friday morning and then boarded a flight to the city to take charge.
