Social Service League Later,the League, set foot on the next level by starting regular evening classes for the children of the labourers and employees of AC&RI.

A light house it would appear for all those signatures that were previously just fingerprints of the farm workers ; Yes ,the Social Service League as it is called today was started with the sole intention of educating and enlightening the farm labourers and assistants in the evenings by the 1954 batch UG students of Agricultural College and Research Institute, Coimbatore . After a while, students

from Poosaripalayam,P.N.Pudur,Seeranaickanpalayam,Lawley road and Milk company areas poured in to join hands with the other kids. In 1989, with a strength of 150 students, an additional branch of SSL emerged at Telugupalayam,Come rain or shine, classes are held six days a week from 5.45 p.m. to 7.30 p.m very successfully till date in both the campuses. Thus unfolds the history of the 60 year old Social Service League.
