What a week it has been! Six days of learning & teaching rhythm, melody, movement and unforgettable memories. From recorder fun to Dalcroze games, singing sessions on ‘Swinging Samson’ - it’s music, laughter and learning all rolled into one vibrant camp!!

Fifth Saturday Recitals of FSM is back this month with a change. We are glad to share the recital stage with the children of Museed Project (social initiative of )where free violin lessons are offered to the marginalised children of the neighbouring community! Do join us.

‘Upbeat’ is a unique music workshop for children aged between 7-12 years. The curriculum combines age specific music teaching pedagogies of Dalcrose’s Eurythmics, Orff Schulwerk and Kodaly. Children will be taught to feel the pulse in music, understand rhythmic patterns and musical phrases using movements, body percussion, percussion instruments and games.

The other interesting aspect of the workshop is that the children will be introduced to a musical instrument and encourage to play in an ensemble setting. Also, they will be trained to sing a fun pop cantata, “Swinging Samson” by Micheal Hurd.

This 6 day course is curated by Faith Ragland, an experienced music educator & conductor who believes in a holistic approach to music education. The course will culminate with a concert on the final day.
