PSG Institute of Advanced Studies, Coimbatore, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with 𝗧𝗩𝗦 𝗔𝗱𝘃𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲𝗱 𝗠𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗮𝗹𝘀 𝗟𝗮𝗯, Chennai, marking the beginning of a strategic collaboration for industrial consultancy, advanced materials testing, and nano-scale characterization.

This partnership aims to strengthen the synergy between academia and industry by leveraging PSG IAS's research expertise and state-of-the-art characterization facilities to address real-world industrial challenges. The collaboration will focus on providing comprehensive testing, analysis, and nano-characterization services for advanced materials, supporting innovation, product development, and quality enhancement.

As part of Welcome Freshers 2026, PSG Institute of Advanced Studies organized an exciting Ice-Breaking Outbound Experience on 31st July 2026, at ALPS, PSG Outbound Centre, Anaikatti.

Through engaging team-building activities, students developed essential life skills, including teamwork, resilience, leadership, focus, time management, discipline, and physical fitness. A unique highlight was experiencing nature by enjoying a traditional meal under the trees, breathing in the fresh air, and embracing responsibility by washing their own plates.

The day was filled with learning, laughter, and meaningful connections, giving our freshers a memorable start to their PSGIAS journey.

PSG Institute of Advanced Studies, Coimbatore, organized Day 2 (30 July 2026) of the Welcome Freshers 2026 Orientation Program under the theme "𝗕𝘂𝗶𝗹𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗙𝗼𝘂𝗻𝗱𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗮 𝗠𝗲𝗮𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴𝗳𝘂𝗹 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗦𝘂𝗰𝗰𝗲𝘀𝘀𝗳𝘂𝗹 𝗟𝗶𝗳𝗲.“

PSG Events

PSG Institute of Advanced Studies (PSGIAS) welcomed a distinguished delegation from Queen's University Belfast (QUB), UK, comprising Prof. David Rooney, Prof. Christine Brown Wilson, Dr Jonathan Browning, Prof. Haresh Manyar and Ms Kathy Brennan.

The delegation met with Dr J. Kanchana, Director, Global Engagement, and the PSGIAS team, and interacted with prospective students. Discussions focused on academic collaboration, international partnerships and the Master's Engineering Partnership Programme (M.Sc. Net Zero), followed by a tour of the Institute's research facilities.

Prof. Haresh Manyar delivered a lecture on "The Future of Sustainable Technologies" for research scholars and faculty. The delegation also visited PSG College of Nursing and PSG Institute of Technology and Applied Research (PSG iTech) to explore opportunities for academic and research collaboration.

PSG Institute of Advanced Studies, Coimbatore, proudly welcomed the 17th Cohort of the BE/BS/BEng International Credit Transfer Program with an inspiring inaugural ceremony.

The event was graced by Mr. Nash Narasimhan Tupil, Head of Services Business, APJ & EMEA, HP Inc., as the Chief Guest. The welcome address and an overview of PSGIAS were delivered by Dr. Kanchana Jeganathan, Director – Global Engagement.

A special address was delivered online by Dr. Dirk Fröhling, Director, Indo-German Center for Higher Education (IGCHE), Germany. Mr. Nils Daniel Wiese introduced students to the International Studies – German School of Technology program. Ms. Priyanka Singh, Executive Director – South Asia, Deakin University, presented an overview of the pathways to Deakin University.

The program also featured inspiring alumni interactions, student support sessions, and campus orientation, providing students with valuable insights as they embark on their academic journey.

We are delighted to announce the inauguration of the PSG Institute of Advanced Studies, Coimbatore - 𝗚𝗲𝗿𝗺𝗮𝗻 𝗦𝗰𝗵𝗼𝗼𝗹 𝗼𝗳 𝗧𝗲𝗰𝗵𝗻𝗼𝗹𝗼𝗴𝘆 - 𝗗𝗶𝗴𝗶𝘁𝗮𝗹 𝗟𝗮𝗯, which serves as the authorized (The European Language Certificates) examination centre in India, offering internationally recognized German language certification.

The Digital Lab was inaugurated by Shri G. R. Karthikeyan, Founder Trustee & Chairman, and Shri L. Gopalakrishnan, Managing Trustee, PSG & Sons Charities, marking another milestone in PSG IAS’s commitment to global education and international collaboration.

🔬 𝗗𝗮𝘆 𝟰 & 𝗗𝗮𝘆 𝟱 𝗛𝗶𝗴𝗵𝗹𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁𝘀 | 𝗢𝗻𝗲-𝗪𝗲𝗲𝗸 𝗪𝗼𝗿𝗸𝘀𝗵𝗼𝗽 𝗼𝗻 𝗦𝗲𝗺𝗶𝗰𝗼𝗻𝗱𝘂𝗰𝘁𝗼𝗿 𝗧𝗲𝗰𝗵𝗻𝗼𝗹𝗼𝗴𝘆 & 𝗧𝗵𝗶𝗻 𝗙𝗶𝗹𝗺 𝗗𝗲𝘃𝗶𝗰𝗲 𝗙𝗮𝗯𝗿𝗶𝗰𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻

Day 4 focused on Thin Film Characterization Techniques, beginning with a session on "Materials Characterization Techniques" by Dr. Anuradha Ashok, followed by "Thin Film Characterization" by Dr. Sebin Devasia. Participants also attended an expert lecture on "New Materials Design for Quantum Technologies and Neuromorphic Devices and Computation" delivered by Prof. Ramesh Thamankar from the Centre for Functional Materials, VIT Vellore. The day concluded with an interactive hands-on session on materials characterization, providing practical exposure to advanced characterization tools and analysis techniques.

Day 5 marked the culmination of the workshop with sessions on "TFT Device Fabrication" by Dr. Sebin Devasia and "Photodetector Device Fabrication" by Dr. Atheek Posha. The keynote expert lecture, "Emerging Thin Film Devices: From Flexible Electronics to Smart Sensors," was delivered by Dr.Mahadeva Bhat Kanathila, Scientist G, SSPL Delhi, and Centre Head, CMSDS Kolkata. The workshop concluded with a comprehensive hands-on session on Device Fabrication, followed by the valedictory session and participant feedback.

Over one week, participants gained theoretical knowledge, expert insights from academia and industry, and practical cleanroom experience, equipping them with essential skills in semiconductor technology and thin-film device fabrication.
