Building Resilient Leaders – Day 2: Disaster & Rescue Application
GRG School of Management Studies, under the Industry Relations initiative, successfully conducted Day 2 of the two-day workshop on First Aid & Disaster Preparedness on 02 April 2026 at Chandra Seminar Hall, in collaboration with the Indian Red Cross Society, Coimbatore Branch.
The day focused on Disaster & Rescue Application, strengthening students’ understanding of disaster response and their role as responsible first responders.
The sessions covered key areas such as:
-> Basics of disaster management and types of disasters
-> Search and rescue techniques, including scene safety and victim prioritisation
-> Flood rescue and water safety concepts with demonstrations
-> Fire safety and basic firefighting awareness
-> Shelter management and crowd control fundamentals
Students actively participated in mock drills and integrated rescue scenarios, gaining practical exposure to real-life emergency situations. The training also emphasized psycho-social support and post-disaster care, helping students understand the human aspect of disaster response.
The activity-based sessions enhanced students’ ability to respond effectively, take quick decisions, and work as a team during emergencies.
The sessions were led by Mr. J. Benjamin, and Mr. E. Blithe Sundar, Co-ordinator for Disaster Management and First Aid Training at the Indian Red Cross Society, Tamil Nadu Branch whose practical approach and guidance made the learning highly impactful.
The enthusiastic participation of students and their disciplined involvement were appreciated by the resource persons, making the workshop a meaningful and engaging learning experience.

Building Resilient Leaders – Day 1: First Aid Core
GRG School of Management Studies successfully conducted Day 1 of the two-day workshop on First Aid & Disaster Preparedness on 01 April 2026 at Chandra Seminar Hall, in collaboration with the Indian Red Cross Society, Coimbatore Branch.
The session began with an overview of the Red Cross Movement and its fundamental principles, setting the foundation for humanitarian responsibility and emergency readiness. The day focused on First Aid Core, with strong emphasis on CPR (Cardio-Pulmonary Resuscitation) and the Chain of Survival.
Students were actively engaged in activity-based practical sessions, covering essential life-saving skills such as:
-> BLS basics and CPR techniques
-> Bleeding and wound management
-> Burns, shock, and fainting response
-> Fracture handling and immobilisation
-> Choking management and recovery position
The hands-on practice and mini-scenario activities enabled students to understand real-life emergency response and build confidence to act effectively during critical situations.
The sessions were led by Dr. S. Gomathi, Assistant Professor, Department of English, PSGR Krishnammal College for Women, Dr. N. Ramakrishnan, Dr. Kerthi Kesavan K.R along with the doctors’ team from PSG Institute of Medical Sciences & Research, whose expertise and practical approach made the learning highly impactful.
The active participation and enthusiasm of the students made the session highly engaging, with the resource persons appreciating their involvement and responsiveness throughout the training.

The students of the I MBA (2025–27 batch) actively participated in a five-day training programme on “Generative AI for Leadership”, organized by GRG School of Management Studies in collaboration with KPMG from 23rd to 27th March 2026.
The programme was highly engaging, featuring practical sessions and real-time exercises that enabled students to gain hands-on experience with emerging AI tools and leadership applications.
Overall, it was an enriching learning experience that enhanced students’ understanding of how Generative AI can be leveraged for effective decision-making and future-ready leadership.

GRG School of Management Studies, PSGR Krishnammal College for Women in collaboration with the Indian Red Cross Society, Coimbatore District Branch, is organizing a Two-Day Workshop on “First Aid Skills & Disaster Preparedness for Real-Life Emergencies” on 01 & 02 April 2026 (9:20 AM – 3:30 PM) at Chandra Seminar Hall. This workshop is conducted as part of the Micro Credit Course – Disaster Preparedness, enabling students to gain practical exposure to first aid techniques, emergency response, disaster management, and rescue applications. With expert-led sessions and hands-on training, the programme focuses on building responsible, resilient, and action-ready future leaders. Participants will also receive certificates from the Indian Red Cross Society, strengthening their applied learning and course outcomes.

Under the Industry Relations initiative, GRG School of Management Studies hosted an engaging CXO Talk on “Cost Drivers in the Cement Industry: A Finance Leader’s Perspective”, delivered by CMA Ramesh Balagopalan, Finance Head, Malabar Cements Ltd., Kerala.
The session offered a deep dive into the operational flow of cement manufacturing and the financial forces shaping cost structures, with a strong focus on energy as the most dynamic and influential cost element. The discussion also brought out how the current global environment is reshaping cost behaviour and decision-making in manufacturing firms.
The talk highlighted practical approaches such as optimising variable costs to improve contribution, applying break-even thinking in decision-making, and aligning pricing with industry benchmarks to sustain competitiveness.
The interaction segment stood out, with participants raising thoughtful questions on cost efficiency, quality trade-offs, and real-world challenges, making the session highly immersive.
Such engagements reinforce the importance of linking classroom concepts with industry realities, preparing future managers for informed financial decision-making.

Under Industry relations initiative GRG School of Management Studies is organizing a CXO Talk on the topic “Cost Drivers in the Cement Industry: A Finance Leader’s Perspective.”
The session will be delivered by Mr. Ramesh Balagopalan, Head of Finance, Malabar Cements Limited (MCL), Walayar, a finance leader with over 25 years of experience in financial management and cost analysis in the cement manufacturing sector.
This industry interaction aims to provide students with practical insights into cost structures, financial planning, and strategic decision-making in the cement industry, strengthening the connection between academic learning and real-world business practices.

GRG School of Management Studies organized a Guest Lecture on “Working Capital Management: Concepts, Determinants and Practices” for MBA SEC B first year students as part of the Financial Management course.
The session was delivered by CA Meena Swaminathan , Past President – ISACA Coimbatore Chapter, Immediate Past Chairperson – FICCI Ladies Organisation, Coimbatore, and Treasurer – Coimbatore Management Association.
The session highlighted the importance of working capital management and the key determinants influencing working capital decisions in organizations. Students actively participated in the discussion, making the session highly interactive and insightful.

Under the Industry Relations Initiative, GRG School of Management Studies, PSGR Krishnammal College for Women, conducted the Industry Visit De-briefing Session on 25 February 2026 from 11:30 AM to 12:40 PM at Prakruthi Hall as part of its experiential learning efforts.
MBA first year students presented their observations and managerial insights gained from their visits to Propel Industries Pvt. Ltd., Roots Industries India Pvt. Ltd., A1 Chips & Exports India Pvt. Ltd., and Milky Mist Dairy Food Limited. The session helped students understand what to observe during an industrial visit — operational processes, work culture, quality & sustainable practices, and the practical application of management concepts such as lean practices, Kaizen, and continuous improvement.
The presentations were evaluated by Dr. Ajith K. Thomas (Dean – GRGSMS), Dr. Vandana Madhavkumar (Dean – Industry Relations, KCW), Dr. R. Prabhusankar (Professor & ED Cell Coordinator, GRGSMS), and Dr. Nisha K. G (Industry Relations Coordinator,GRGSMS) through an interactive feedback and question–answer session.

As part of the Industry Relations initiative, GRG School of Management Studies, PSGR Krishnammal College for Women, organized a CXO Talk on “Union Budget 2026–27: Insights, Priorities and Economic Impact.” The session was delivered by Mr. K. Ravi, Chief Financial Officer, Roots Group of Companies & Director, Roots Multiclean Ltd. He explained the relationship between the Economic Survey and the Union Budget, the significance of India’s youthful demographic profile, and the impact of inflation on real income. The talk highlighted GST collections, financial inclusion and the crucial role of MSMEs as a major contributor to employment and exports. The speaker also discussed the vision of Viksit Bharat 2047 and the importance of government investment in infrastructure, education and defence as key drivers of long-term economic growth. He further emphasized entrepreneurship, good governance and maintaining trust in business practices, encouraging students to explore self-employment and understand government support schemes available for young entrepreneurs. The programme witnessed active student interaction and provided valuable industry perspectives beyond classroom learning.
