SREC Alumni Association The College came into existence in the year 1994. SREC Alumni Association was formed on 14th May 1998 with 190 members.

It is an autonomous college, affiliated to Anna University, Chennai and approved by All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), New Delhi, Accredited by NBA and Government of TamilNadu. The executive committees of the alumni association framed the bye laws of our association and registered in the district registrar’s office, Coimbatore. SREC Alumni association has chapters at Chennai and Ba

ngalore. The association is organizing Alumni guest lectures, conducting mock campus drives, scholarships to students, career guidance programs, project internships and alumni-students interactions. Association is strengthening alumni interactions and supports the activities of the core alumni groups and promotes their activity for the benefit of the college and its wider perspectives

The 15th year reunion of the Class of 2006-2010 was a heartwarming event held on December 20, 2025. Around 150+ alumni, accompanied by their families, returned to campus to relive cherished memories and reconnect with former classmates and faculty. Alumni from the batch, across the globe, joined through video conferencing. Ms.Vyshnavee, an alumna from 2010/CSE, welcomed all his batchmates.
Dr.A.Soundarrajan, Principal and Patron, greeted all the alumni and released the SREC Alumni Association magazine, "Spotlight" Issue-24. He expressed pride in the alumni holding positions in various organizations, commended their valuable contributions to the growth of their alma mater, and highlighted the vital role of the association’s programmes and services in shaping its future. Shri.S.Narendran, Joint Managing Trustee, SNR Sons Charitable Trust, addressed the gathering. Ms. Veena Ramesh, President of the SREC Alumni Association, updated the alumni on chapter activities and the contributions made by the alumni toward the growth of the institution.
The alumni honored their faculty as a token of gratitude. The twelfth batch of SREC, the Class of 2005-2009, instituted an endowment of Rs. 3 lakhs toward the alumni activities of the institution.
Mr.C.V.Ramkumar, CEO of SNR Sons Charitable Trust, Ms. Veena Ramesh, President of SREC AA; Dr. N. Senthil Kannan, Secretary of SREC AA; Dr. P. Perumal, Treasurer of SREC AA; and representatives from various chapters graced the occasion. Mrs.G.Lavanya,AP/BME & Alumna of 2010/BME, proposed the vote of thanks. Parent Chapter Annual Alumni Meet and AGM 2025
The Parent Chapter Annual Alumni Meet was held on 13th September 2025, at Library Seminar Hall, SREC. Around 100 alumni along with their families attended the function. Dr.A. Soundar Rajan, Patron and Principal, faculty members, Head of the departments, and Special invitees graced the occasion. Ms. Veena Ramesh, President of SREC AA, welcomed the gathering.
Dr.A.Soundarrajan, Patron and Principal, greeted all the alumni and thanked the alumni members for their initiatives and noteworthy contributions towards the growth of the institution and the alma mater. During the event, he also unveiled the alumni magazine – Spotlight Issue 23.
SREC AA alumni scholarship of Rs.9,30,500 was distributed to 21 economically backward and meritorious students of various departments. Dr. N. Senthilkannan, Secretary- SRECAA, presented the resolutions to the gathering and the members ratified the various proposed resolutions. The meeting concluded with a vote of thanks proposed by Dr. M. Kasiselvanathan, ASP-ECE.

Rising Alumni Nexus (RAN-2025)
On 13th September 2025, the SREC Alumni Association proudly hosted the Rising Alumni Nexus (RAN) 2025 at the college auditorium, warmly welcoming alumni from the 2016 to 2024 graduating batches. With an enthusiastic turnout of 150+ attendees, the event was a resounding success, fostering meaningful connections and celebrating the enduring spirit of SREC.
The program began with a heartfelt welcome address by Ms. Veena Ramesh, President of SREC Alumni Association, who highlighted the association’s recent activities. Dr.A.Soundarrajan, Principal and Patron also addressed the gathering, setting an inspiring and positive tone for the day. Shri R. Sundar, Managing Trustee of SNR Sons' Charitable Trust, expressed his delight at the reunion and acknowledged the alumni’s remarkable achievements.
A key moment of the event was the Chief Guest address delivered by Mrs. Kovai Santhamani, a motivational speaker and Pattimandra Pechalar, who inspired the alumni with her valuable insights and encouragement.
The Rising Alumni Excellence Award was presented to Mr. Lakshman Sundaram (2014-2018, Mechanical) and Mr. Gowtham Raj Veeraswamy Premkumar (2018-2022, ECE), recognizing their exceptional achievements.
The event concluded with a vibrant networking lunch, providing alumni with a wonderful opportunity to reconnect and share their experiences.

The 25th Year Reunion Class of 1996–2000 was held on 12th July 2025 at the Library Seminar Hall, SREC, with over 130 alumni and their families in attendance. The event offered a meaningful platform to reconnect, celebrate memories, and contribute to the institution’s growth.
Ms. Veena Ramesh, President of the Alumni Association, welcomed the gathering. Shri R. Sundar, Managing Trustee of SNR Sons’ Charitable Trust, and Dr. A. Soundarrajan, Principal of SREC, addressed the alumni, appreciating their continued bond and highlighting the college’s progress.
The alumni contributed an Endowment Fund of Rs. 20 lakhs to support deserving students and launched an Innoventure Fund of Rs. 1 crore to promote student entrepreneurship. They also honoured their former faculty members in an emotional felicitation ceremony.
Dr. M. Ramesh, Convenor of the Reunion Committee, proposed the vote of thanks. The day concluded with a networking lunch and a campus tour showcasing the college’s advancements.

Greetings from SREC Alumni Association (SREC AA)!

We are delighted to share an exciting initiative organized by the SREC Alumni Association, with the enthusiastic support of our Third Batch alumni, who graduated during 1996-2000. Our goal is to create a vibrant platform that bridges the gap between alumni and current students through an inspiring series of guest lectures called "Back to Inspire."

This initiative involves inviting accomplished alumni as resource persons to share their valuable knowledge, professional experiences, innovative ideas, and insights on a common theme relevant to multiple disciplines. By involving all departments in this collaborative activity, we hope to foster meaningful interdisciplinary dialogue and learning opportunities that benefit our students and the wider academic community.

The Alumni Guest Lecture series is designed not only to strengthen the bond between our alumni and alma mater but also to inspire current students by exposing them to real-world perspectives and success stories from those who once walked the same halls. This exchange of ideas is expected to motivate students and encourage them to think beyond textbooks.

We are pleased to announce that this event will take place on 11th July 2025, Friday. We warmly invite all students, faculty members, and alumni to actively participate in and contribute to this enriching experience.
