Think Blue. is more than just engineering fuel-efficient cars. That's why the New Passat has Break Energy Recuperation i.e. Every time the car brakes, kinetic energy is converted into electricity and stored in the battery.

Which means, just the act of braking recharges the battery. Now, the more you brake, the further you can go.

The Legends Of Motor Racing In India.
SUNDARAM KARIVARDHAN. ( Article 1 )

Born on 20 June 1954 in Coimbatore, as the son of G.K.Sundaram, who hailed from the wealthy Lakshmi Mills textile family. Karivardhan did his schooling in Coimbatore and later joined PSG College of Technology and successfully completed his Graduation in mechanical engineering. For higher studies he had chosen UCLA, Los Angeles and completed his Masters Programme from there.

He was a person, quiet and shy in nature and like most other enthusiasts, showed an affection to cars and bikes since his childhood. After his studies in LA in early 70's he attended Jim Russell racing school in England and from there he laid the proper foundation on his racing career.

Later, when he returned to India in the mid-70's his affection with Chennai's Sholavaram (The proving Ground Of India) started, and from there he initiated the journey to become The most inspiring figure of indian motorsport with serious talent for development of highly advanced prototypes to creation of low budget formula type racing machines and to speed indeed.

Yes once it was Karivardhan's vision to bring in the Formula 1 racing to india and with all the effort of his friends and other people who are engaged in the promotion of motorsports , it finally happened . But its hard to say , Karivardhan was not there in the Grandstand to witness one of his dream which came true and every one of us is soo unfortunate for not having him with us to Lead us.

Since he had flying license , it was mandatory for all to have a certain amount of practical flying hours each year to retain it in actieve status. On 24 August 1995 at the age of 41 ( Black Day For MotorSports In India) while flying a Puspak trainers aircraft he disappeared in the clouds and left every one of us. The medium was gone and left with no replacements. Motorsports Industry in india came to a Grinding Halt. It was one of the greatest Loss for India as a country.

It was definite, if Karivardhan was still alive, we would have many more like Narain Karthikeyan , Karun Chandhok or Armaan Ebrahim. And many other highly advanced racing machines like Formula Maruti Single Seater racing Car, which Karivardhan developed from his own Prototype.

He was a Gentleman in racing and a Genius in Racing developments. 'We all miss u Sir'.
