"An ounce of cancer prevention is worth a ton of cancer cure."

World Cancer Day is observed on the 4th of February every year globally to raise awareness about cancer and promote its prevention, detection, and treatment. The World Cancer Day Campaign 2025-27 theme is "United by Unique," which keeps people at the centre of care and explores "new ways" to prevent cancer and raise awareness.

At Bharathi School, a Poster-Making Competition on "Cancer awareness" was conducted for students in Grade 8 on World Cancer Day. The students eagerly studied the theme and expressed their perspectives on cancer awareness and the ways for prevention in an artistic way. L. Sathwika, the winner, was felicitated, and this activity drove home the point to young minds that prevention is better than cure.

Our alumna, Ms. D. Shri Vidhya, Class of 2025, fondly recalls how Bharathi has shaped her formative years and provided the spark and support to realise her dream of entering the India Book of Records. She appreciates the encouragement and attention given by the Drawing Club to her artistic skills. Bharathi nurtured her all-round development and was instrumental in her successful journey as a public speaker, helping her shine at the international Ignite Talks event, and as a table tennis player.

Ms. Shri Vidhya values Bharathi's approach to looking beyond academics to develop life skills and character.

Community Helpers Day: Parents as Guest Speakers

Bharathi celebrated Community Helpers Day in November 2025 to appreciate the significant roles that different community helpers play in society. Our parents, who are professionals from various fields, served as guest speakers, connecting students with real-world jobs by describing their roles, showing students their equipment, and even demonstrating aspects of their work. We had parent speakers who are a Goldsmith, an Engineer, a Beautician, a Baker, a Green Grocer, a Quality Controller, an AC Technician, a Policeman, an Advocate and a Teacher. The session helped the students understand the significance of these jobs and how they directly impact our daily lives. This knowledge helps them appreciate the community helpers and the contributions they make, cultivating respect and gratitude for these professionals. To sum up, the Community Helpers Day helped students, teachers, and professionals build a sense of connection and belonging within the community and contributed to students' holistic development.

Bharathi School's Vocal Music Competitions 2025-26 provided a platform for aspiring singers to showcase their talent and enhance their singing skills. Vocal music competitions offer many opportunities for students: they can perform in choirs and other competitions. They learn how to work and learn with a team, and get unique opportunities to express themselves creatively and build confidence.

"Your voice is a gift; sing as if the world is your audience."

Congratulations, Winners!

Bharathi celebrated Pongal festival in a unique yet traditional manner by transforming the school premises into a typical Tamil village buzzing with festivities. The students joining hands with the teachers grandly celebrated the culture, bravery, and compassion of the Tamil community.
Grade 6 students created a commercial street where they acted as vendors, managing a jewellery shop, utensil shop, clothing shop, vegetable shop, toy shop and snack shop, giving a real-life experience of visiting a village fair during a festival. The celebration also included the Arts Festival, featuring all traditional forms of Tamil Nadu like Silambattam, Kummiyattam, Parai performance, Oyilattam, Karagattam, a devotional Kavadiyattam, and a Perunjalangai dance, celebrating the joy of a good harvest and community togetherness. In addition to the above, the vibrant Tamil folk dances, Mayilattam (peacock dance), Cow dance, and Puliyattam (tiger dance) were a feast for the eyes. Various traditional sports competitions were held for students from Grades 1 to 8, which they enjoyed with a festive spirit. The entire campus became a family as the students dressed in traditional attire, made pongal in a new pot, and chanted "Pongal-o-Pongal". This celebration, which brought the arts and business practices of our ancestors to the present generation, will remain etched in the students' memories forever.

Celebrating this season of gratitude, Bharathi School wishes you all a bountiful harvest of happiness and prosperity this Pongal!

Grandparents' Day Gala!

Our Grandparents' Day celebration held in November 2025 by the students of LKG honoured the love, wisdom and joy that grandparents bring into our lives.

Interactive games were organised for the grandparents and the kids, where the pair participated with a gamut of glee. The grandparents' youthful spirit and the children's bliss filled the day with ripples of good memories. The celebration concluded with a spectacular photo gallery displaying the pictures of children with their grandparents.

The highlights of the day included the presence of a great-grandparent along with the grandparents! Some of the grandparents are parents of our alumni who chose Bharathi to continue the educational legacy. These grandparents felt nostalgic about their children's education at Bharathi and are happy and proud to see their grandchildren also attending Bharathi School!

Bharathi... an exceptional beacon of educational legacy!
