The International Collegiate Programming Contest (ICPC) is a prestigious algorithmic programming competition for college students, promoting collaboration, creativity, and problem-solving skills under pressure. Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham hosted the Regional Contest "Asia Amritapuri Doublesite RC," encompassing the Asia West Region, including countries like India, Pakistan, and Sri Lanka. The contest is organized across three campuses: Amritapuri, Bengaluru, and Coimbatore.

With 262 teams registered online, 87 were allocated to the Coimbatore campus. On-site registration added 77 teams from renowned institutions like IITs, NITs, and IIITs. The event commenced with an inauguration by Regional Contest Director Br. Maheshwara Chaitanya, followed by Dr. Vidhya Balasubramanian's address in Coimbatore. The main competition unfolded the next day after a practice session and banquet dinner.

Starting at 9:00 am, teams tackled 12 complex problems over five hours. Dr. Vidhya Balasubramanian and Dr. C. Shunmuga Velayutham presented medals, certificates, and mementos to the winners during the award ceremony broadcast from the Bengaluru campus.

As part of Amma’s Saptati – Sevana Varam under the theme of Education Support, the faculty members and students of the School of Computing visited a few tribal schools near Ettimadai. The team, comprising 40+ students and 20+ faculty, visited five government schools in C.G. Pudur, Muruganpathy, Puthupathy, Chinnampathy, and Punga Gounder Pudur. School children and Amrita students planted tree saplings. Notebooks, dresses, shoes, sports essentials, and other necessary supplies were presented to the schoolchildren to support their education, co-curricular and extra-curricular activities. After having lunch with the children, students had a fun gala time with them, playing games, singing, and dancing. As the day came to a close, farewells were exchanged with heavy hearts, and goodbyes were spoken with an unspoken longing to stay.
