Every Big Journey Needs a Launchpad. CIT Was Theirs. 🚀

Coimbatore Institute of Technology welcomed the 2026 batch of First Year B.E., B.Tech, MBA & MCA students at the Students’ Induction Program – 2026.

The inaugural function was graced by Sri. C.V. Praveen Adhithya I.A.S., Managing Director, AP Airports Development Corporation and B.E. Mechanical Engineering – 2014 Batch, and Sri. G. Vignesh, Scientist/Engineer-SE, ISRO Propulsion Complex, Mahendragiri, Tamil Nadu, and B.Tech Chemical Engineering – 2014 Batch, as the Chief Guests.

Dr. A. Rajeswari, Principal, CIT, delivered the welcome address. Thiru. R. Santossh, Managing Trustee / Chairman and Correspondent, delivered the presidential address, followed by the felicitation address by Dr. N.R. Alamelu.

The session brought together inspiring experiences, meaningful insights and a vision of the road ahead for the newest CITians.

A brand-new chapter will unfold at Coimbatore Institute of Technology as we welcome the 2026 batch of First Year B.E., B.Tech, MBA & MCA students at the Students’ Induction Program – 2026.

The Department of Computing (M.Sc. 5-Year Integrated Programme) at Coimbatore Institute of Technology (CIT) is organizing an Internal Hackathon to shortlist top student teams for the nationwide Smart India Hackathon 2026!

Team Eligibility & Rules
👥 Team Size: Exactly 6 members per team (including team leader).

🛠️ Hardware Edition: Multidisciplinary teams encouraged (Mechanical, Electronics, Designers, Programmers, etc.).
💻 Software Edition: Strong programming skills required for all members.

Celebrating the Spirit of Independence at CIT

Coimbatore Institute of Technology commemorated India's Independence Day on August 15 with pride, patriotism and a deep sense of gratitude towards the countless sacrifices that shaped our nation's journey.

The national flag was proudly hoisted by Dr. A. Rajeswari, Principal, Coimbatore Institute of Technology, marking the beginning of the Independence Day celebrations at the campus. As the Tricolour rose high, it stood as a powerful reminder of India's freedom, unity and the responsibilities that come with it.

For an institution dedicated to education, engineering and innovation, Independence Day is also an opportunity to reflect on the role of young minds in building the nation ahead. Every idea explored, every problem solved and every innovation pursued contributes to a stronger and more progressive India.

2001 Alumni Batch Contributes to Campus Development

The 1997–2001 batch alumni of Coimbatore Institute of Technology celebrated their Silver Jubilee Reunion on 25 July 2026 at the CIT Auditorium, bringing together around 180 alumni from various disciplines to commemorate 25 years of enduring friendships, shared memories, and lifelong connections.

The reunion was presided over by Thiru. R. Santossh, Managing Trustee and Correspondent, CIT Institutions, who delivered the presidential address. Dr. N. R. Alamelu, Chief Academic Officer, CIT Institutions, and Dr. J. Devisree, Dean – Alumni Engagement, felicitated the gathering and appreciated the batch for organizing a vibrant and memorable reunion.

Addressing the alumni, Er. M. Karthikeyan, President, CITAA, highlighted the significance of milestone reunions at 15, 20, 25, and 30 years, emphasizing how such initiatives strengthen the bond between alumni and their alma mater.

As part of the celebrations, the 2001 batch alumni made a generous contribution of ₹35 lakhs towards the establishment of a dedicated Sports Complex on the CIT campus. In addition, the Computer Science and Engineering alumni of the 2001 batch contributed ₹6.25 lakhs towards establishing a CSE–AI Laboratory.

The reunion concluded on a joyous note, with alumni cherishing their time together and reaffirming their commitment to supporting the continued growth and development of Coimbatore Institute of Technology.

CIT Alumni Association Elects New Office Bearers

The Annual General Body Meeting of the Coimbatore Institute of Technology Alumni Association (CITAA) was held on 17 July 2026 at Coimbatore Institute of Technology. During the meeting, the General Body unanimously elected the new office bearers of CITAA for the 2026–27 and 2027–28 term.

The newly elected office bearers are:

🔹 President: Er. M. Karthikeyan – Mechanical Engineering (1998 Batch), Proprietor, Sukshma Dynamics

🔹 Vice President: Er. K. Dhinesh Kumar – Mechanical Engineering (2000 Batch), Proprietor, AmirthaLaksmi CNC Components
