123rd Birth Anniversary Celebration of Ayya Dr. T. S. Avinashilingam Avargal

The 123rd Birth Anniversary of Padma Bhushan Ayya Dr. T. S. Avinashilingam Avargal was commemorated with great reverence and pride at Avinashilingam Institute for Home Science and Higher Education for Women on 05 May 2026.

The programme was presided over by Dr. T. S. K. Meenakshisundaram, Chancellor & Managing Trustee. Dr. V. Bharathi Harishankar, Vice Chancellor, presented the achievements of the academic year 2025–26. The welcome address was delivered by Dr. H. Indu, Registrar.

The Chief Guest, Thiru Thanga Veerappan, Education Advisor, Government of Tamil Nadu, delivered an inspiring keynote address, highlighting the visionary contributions of Ayya in the field of education and women’s empowerment.
