🔐💻 Cyber Shiksha Programme – Cyber Awareness & Digital Safety

The Cyber Club (Computer Centre and the Department of Computer Science) organised the Cyber Shiksha Programme – Cyber Awareness & Digital Safety on 19 August 2026.

The programme focused on creating awareness among girl students about cybersecurity, digital safety, responsible use of social media, and opportunities in technology.

🎙️ Insightful Session:
Mrs. Theepika J., CEO, Vetri Tec Solutions & Cyber Security Specialist, shared valuable insights on cybercrimes, online scams, real-life cybersecurity experiences, legal actions, and preventive measures.

Students were introduced to useful cybersecurity resources such as M-Kavach 2.0, DMCA, and Have I Been Pwned. A cybercrime awareness screening, interactive quiz, and feedback session further enriched the programme.

✨ The programme empowered 500+ students to become more cyber-aware, digitally responsible, and confident users of technology.

The Department of Education, School of Education, Avinashilingam Institute for Home Science and Higher Education for Women, successfully organized the Inauguration of Association on 19 August 2026 at the Multipurpose Hall, School of Education. The programme commenced with the Presidential Address by Dr. Indu H, Registrar (i/c) and Professor & Dean, School of Education, followed by the Felicitation Address by Mrs. S. Andal, HoD (i/c), Department of Education. The programme featured an insightful session by Dr. M. Parthasarathy, Associate Professor, Department of Educational Technology, Bharathiar University, who shared valuable perspectives with the students. The Department of Printing Technology, School of Engineering, Campus II, Avinashilingam Institute for Home Science and Higher Education for Women, organized a special lecture on “Emerging Trends and Future Opportunities in Printing and Packaging Industries” on 17 August 2026 at the Computer Lab, Department of Printing Technology, Campus II.

The session provided students with valuable insights into the lithography process, dry offset printing and the packaging industry. The interactive session and one-on-one discussions helped students understand the emerging trends, career pathways and opportunities available in the Printing and Packaging sector.

The programme was organized under the guidance of Dr. S. Sivakumari, Dean, School of Engineering, with Dr. A. Arulmozhi, Associate Professor & Head, Department of Printing Technology, as Co-Convener. 🌱 BIOGENESIS 2026 | Inspiring the Next Generation of Plant Scientists! 🔬

The Department of Biochemistry and Biotechnology, SF Programmes, Campus II, Avinashilingam Institute for Home Science and Higher Education for Women, successfully inaugurated its Association activities on 14 August 2026 with an inspiring scientific session titled “Biogenesis: Inspiring the Next Generation of Plant Scientists.”

🎙️ Dr. S. S. Shanthakumari, Director, SF, delivered the Presidential Address and highlighted the importance of innovation, creativity and scientific discovery.

🌿 Dr. Jibu Thomas, Professor & Head, Department of Biotechnology, Karunya Institute of Technology and Sciences, Coimbatore, engaged students with valuable insights into plant science and its future possibilities.

The session explored how plant science and biotechnology can contribute to addressing global challenges such as food security, climate change, climate resilience and environmental sustainability. Students also gained awareness of research opportunities, emerging technologies, higher studies and career pathways in biotechnology and plant science.
