✒️ Farm forestry is the name given to programme which promote commercial tree growing by farmers on their on lands.

✒️ Farm forestry includes any trees on farm lands which are managed to produce saleable product's such as timber, gum, oil tannin, charcoal or carbon credits, etc.

✒️ The term social forestry came to prominence in the 1976 report
of the National Commission on Agriculture in India.

✒️ It was used for a programme of activities to encourage those who depended on fuelwood and other forest products to produce their own supplies.

✒️ In order to "lighten the burden on production forestry" (GOI 1976).
