Passing Out Parade Dress Rehearsal at the Indian Military Academy

The students of Class XII of Raja Rammohan Roy Academy had the privilege of attending the Passing Out Parade (POP) Dress Rehearsal at the Indian Military Academy (IMA), Dehradun, on 6 June 2026.

The students arrived at the academy in the early morning and witnessed the rehearsal at the historic Drill Square against the backdrop of the iconic Chetwode Building. The ceremony commenced at around 7:00 a.m. and showcased the remarkable discipline, precision, and military bearing of the Gentleman Cadets.

Students observed impressive parade formations, synchronized marching, ceremonial inspections, and mounted displays that reflected the rigorous training imparted at the academy. The review of the contingents and the flawless ex*****on of military drills left the audience deeply impressed.

The visit provided valuable insights into the life of future officers of the Indian Armed Forces and highlighted the importance of leadership, dedication, perseverance, and patriotism. It served as an inspiring experience for the students, fostering a greater appreciation for the armed forces and their service to the nation.

Report on Critical Thinking Session

On 26 May 2026, a highly enriching workshop on Critical Thinking was conducted for the teachers of Raja Rammohan Roy Academy by Mrs Indrani Lahiri, a renowned educationist. The session aimed at helping educators understand the importance of developing analytical and reflective thinking skills among students and incorporating them effectively in classroom teaching.

Mrs Lahiri, explained the concept of critical thinking through engaging presentations, practical examples, and interactive discussions. She elaborated on Bloom’s Taxonomy and highlighted the progression from remembering and understanding to analysing, evaluating, and creating. She emphasised that questioning plays a vital role in learning and encouraged teachers to guide students towards independent thinking rather than merely providing answers.

The workshop included activities based on reasoning, logic, identifying facts and opinions, evaluating information, and solving real-life problems. Various classroom strategies such as brainstorming, collaboration, role play, graphic organisers, and problem-solving exercises were discussed in detail. Through thought-provoking examples and interactive tasks, the session encouraged teachers to make critical thinking an integral part of classroom culture.

Quotations by great thinkers like Gautam Buddha and Socrates added depth to the session and reinforced the importance of encouraging curiosity and inquiry in education. A Cyber Crime Awareness Workshop was conducted on 25 May 2026 for the academic and administrative staff members of Raja Rammohan Roy Academy. The session was conducted by expert officials from the National Institute of Electronics and Information Technology (NIELIT).

The workshop focused on important topics such as cyber frauds, password security, two-step verification, AI and deepfakes, social engineering, screen-sharing app frauds, and safe digital practices. The resource persons also explained preventive measures to ensure online safety and protect personal data from cyber threats.

The session was informative and interactive, enhancing awareness among the staff members regarding responsible and secure use of digital platforms.

Raja Rammohan Roy Academy Felicitates
ISC and ICSE 2025-26 Achievers

Raja Rammohan Roy Academy organised a felicitation ceremony to honour the outstanding achievers of the ISC and ICSE Board Examinations 2025–26 on 23rd May 2026. The students were felicitated by the Chief Guest, Mrs. Indrani Lahiri, renowned educationist, for their remarkable academic excellence and dedication.

In the ISC (Class XII) Science Stream, Arnav Vats secured the highest position with 99.25% and also brought laurels to the school, by being the second topper in Uttarakhand. Sw****ka Rati Sharma secured 98.75%, followed by A Parameksu Nawani with 97.75%.

In the Humanities Stream, Shubhangi Sharma scored 97.50%, while Harsheen Kaur secured 96.00% and Rohini achieved 95.25%. In the Commerce Stream, Divyanshi Aggarwal secured 86.50%.

In the ICSE (Class X) Examination, Shaurya Panwar secured the first position with 95.80%, followed by Aastha with 95.60% and Gargi with 95.00%.
The Chief Guest motivated the students to continue working hard with dedication, discipline, and determination to achieve greater success in life. The Principal, Ms. Bharti Vishnoi also encouraged the students to remain focused on their goals and uphold the spirit of excellence.

The fair witnessed enthusiastic participation from both parents and students, who eagerly explored a wide variety of books displayed across different genres and age groups. The atmosphere was filled with excitement as children joyfully selected their favourite storybooks, activity books and knowledge-based books with the guidance of their parents. First Aid Workshop

The Biology Department of Raja Rammohan Roy Academy conducted a First Aid Workshop for the students of Class VIII on 22nd May 2026. The session focused on practical emergency skills required for handling situations like burns, bleeding, fever, snake bites, fractures, unconsciousness, and heart attack.
The workshop was interactive and included live demonstrations of CPR (Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation) and artificial breathing, along with other first aid measures, to help students understand the correct emergency response techniques. It enabled them to gain basic knowledge and confidence to act responsibly during medical emergencies.

The session was highly engaging and informative, encouraging active participation from students. It helped them develop confidence and awareness to respond promptly and responsibly during unforeseen medical situations.

GOOD TOUCH BAD TOUCH
A workshop on Good Touch and Bad Touch was conducted on 21st May, 2026 in the Multi-purpose Hall for the students of Classes III to V. Conducted by Ms. Rinzin (Counsellor), Ms. Monika Garg and Ms. Parul Bhatt, the session created awareness about personal safety, body boundaries and the importance of speaking up against any unwanted touch.
