Rs 75 lakh stolen from bank account by obtaining SIM card
Deccan Herald 2 Feb. 2017 21:33
A businessman was relieved of Rs 75 lakh by unidentified cyber thieves who accessed one-time-password (OTP) from his bank by obtaining his mobile SIM card using duplicate documents, police said today. Deepak Agrawal, the complainant, said in the FIR registered with the cyber cell of city police that last Friday his mobile SIM got suddenly deactivated.
When he inquired with mobile service provider, he was told he had asked for a new SIM card, whereas Agrawal had made no such request. Then he checked his Oriental Bank of Commerce account and was shocked to find that Rs 1.05 crore had been transferred to nineteen accounts, most of them in Delhi, West Bengal and Uttar Pradesh.
"Cyber thieves obtained duplicate SIM card of my mobile number registered with the bank. They used it to receive the OTP from the bank to add beneficiaries in corporate net banking list, and scheduled the transaction for Monday when all the transaction got processed at once," he said in FIR.
Through 27 transactions, a total Rs 1.05 crore were transferred out. Around Rs 25 lakh returned to his account due to wrong transaction details. Police said they had blocked all these 19 accounts where the money was transferred, and further probe was on.

For the first 46 years of his life, Clive Wearing was an accomplished musician, conductor and music expert.

The respected Englishman was healthy, intelligent and immensely gifted.
But in March of 1985, sixth months after marrying his wife Deborah, Clive woke up and couldn’t remember her name, or anything else for that matter. The doctor said he just fatigued and had the flu. But when his symptoms worsened, out came the shocking diagnosis: Clive contracted the herpes simplex 1 virus, which usually causes cold sores. In a rare turn of events, the virus attacked his central nervous system instead of giving him a cold sore.

As a result, Clive developed one of the most severe cases of total amnesia doctors have ever seen. His memory lasts between 7 and 30 seconds. He spends every day “waking up” again every 20 seconds before writing a new journal entry as if he has just awoken from a coma.
Most of Clive’s memories before 1985 have vanished, but the two things he does remember are love and music. He remembers how to play the piano and he recognizes his wife Deborah. “Every time she walks into the room he greets her as though he hasn’t seen her for ages.

He runs to her and showers her with hugs and kisses, even if she only left for a few short minutes.” (cremeboulet.wordpress.com)
Clive essentially falls in love with Deborah over and over again.
Nine years after Clive was diagnosed, Deborah had grown so defeated and disheartened by his illness that she filed for divorce and moved to the United States — but this didn’t last long. The couple has since renewed their vows. Clive is now 78 years old, and though he lives in a care house, Deborah visits him regularly and continues to love him unconditionally.

Building a Custom Computer.
There are plenty of reasons to build a custom computer. While custom computers may initially be more expensive than prepackaged desktops or laptops, they can provide you with nearly endless possibilities, whether you're looking for a top-notch gaming machine, a system for mixing music, or the ideal choice for developing Web applications.
A custom computer is the way to go if you want both performance and flexibility. Upgrading individual parts often is less expensive than buying a new computer, which could save you money in the long run.
Following are the essential parts you'll need.
Processor and Motherboard
The component to start with is the processor, which will dictate your selection of other necessary parts, like the motherboard. UserBenchmark's exhaustive list of user-rated processors is a good resource to help you decide. AMD and Intel are the top manufacturers, but I prefer Intel.
Intel is the industry standard when it comes to processors, so you can't go wrong if that's your choice. Its Core series comes in three families: i3, i5 and i7. The i3 series is good for average computing needs, while the i5 offers a little more horsepower. The i7 series offers you the best performance. For the price, a Core i7-6700k really can't be beat.
After you choose your processor, select a motherboard to go with it. Make sure it is USB 3.1/3.0-capable for optimal speed. One factor to consider is whether you plan on overclocking, which involves running your PC at a speed higher than manufacturer recommendations.
While you can benefit from short-term performance boosts, overclocking may lead to a shorter lifespan for your computer, so you'll need to consider a compatible motherboard if you plan to do it.
Storage and Memory
Next, choose the storage you want to use. HDD drives are the traditional hard drives that most computers have, and they are extremely affordable.
However, SSDs are the choice for sheer performance, and their prices are dropping.
I prefer a hybrid option that includes both. A computer built with its system files on a smaller SSD will boot faster, while a larger and cheaper HDD in the 2-TB range gives plenty of storage.
Decide how much RAM you need. If you plan on running a 32-bit OS, then you only need 3 GB of memory since the OS won't support any more. Most likely, though, you will be using a 64-bit architecture where 4 GB is the minimum.
RAM is a relatively cheap upgrade for the performance you get in return. Choose 8, 12, or 16 GB for a better user experience.
You can also put in a DVD/CD drive, though it is not necessary, thanks to portable storage and cloud-based software.
Video and Audio Cards
If you intend to play video games, create digital graphics or edit video, you should invest in something more advanced than a basic video card.
For enhanced graphics, AMD, ATI or Nvidia cards will do the trick. The AMD Radeon RX 460 is a reasonably affordable option that can also handle the needs of most casual gamers.
The same goes for your audio card: If you are editing audio files, you should always opt for a higher-quality card that's compatible with the peripheral equipment you want to connect.
Case, Power and Cooling
You have to buy a case to hold all of that amazing hardware! There are many types of cases on the market with different features. Many cases have a rudimentary power supply and cooling fans. However, if you are building a high-performance system, they are probably inadequate.
All that performance generates heat. Too much heat will cause your computer to crash and may even damage hardware, so be sure to invest in some quality computer cooling fans.
At a minimum, you will want one attached to your CPU heatsink, one larger fan to exhaust heat from the case -- and if not built in, one to disperse heat from your graphics card.
The more powerful your components, the more power you'll need to run your system properly. You don't want to burn through a cheap power supply and have everything destroyed.

Did you know a Mosquito bite now can lead to paralized? This is know as West Nile virus.
Infections with the mosquito-borne West Nile virus have been known to lead to neurological problems, including paralysis, though these results are rare.
According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), less than 1 percent of people who are infected with West Nile develop neurological symptoms. These cases are called "neuroinvasive" cases of infection.
Indeed, these cases are extremely rare, said Dr. Amesh Adalja, an infectious-disease specialist and a senior associate at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center's Center for Health Security.
In fact, the majority of people who get West Nile virus have no symptoms at all. Only about 20 percent of people develop what's known as West Nile fever, which is a flu-like illness.
Neurological symptoms occur when the virus crosses the blood-brain barrier, a defense system in the body that keeps many germs in the bloodstream from entering the brain, Adalja said. Once across the barrier, the virus can infect cells of the brain and nervous system, he said. Some cells may become inflamed and others may die.
Only certain viruses, including the polio, rabies and Zika viruses, have the capacity to cross into the brain, he added.
People with neuroinvasive West Nile virus can develop conditions such as encephalitis (inflammation of the brain) or meningitis (inflammation of the tissue surrounding the brain). Symptoms can include headaches, fever, neck stiffness, disorientation, coma, tremors, seizures and paralysis. About 10 percent of patients who develop a neuroinvasive infection from West Nile die.
There are currently no treatments or vaccines for the West Nile virus. Once a person becomes paralyzed from the virus, it's unlikely that he or she will get better in the long term.
