Happy Khankho Day to ALL

Khankho is an indigenous way of life in which life is lived together in a community that includes human, the Ultimate Being, and nature both seen and the unseen. Khankho is both a process and an essential reality. It is lived out through culture but it is more than a culture. Khankho operates in all spheres of life including social, politics, economic and environmental care. Khankho was born in a land for the sake of all that was in the land both seen and the unseen. Khankho promotes an Inter-dependent, harmonious and peaceful community living in which human is only a part. Khankho is about wellness of all creation (Mk 16:15). The God-given human wisdom Khankho is essential for our contemporary broken societies, and perhaps, the most urgent need for the global environmental crises caused by greed. This is good news from the periphery!

Sadly she finally passed away this morning as the family could not continue her treatment. Ms ... (35?) was the eldest child of her parents in a remote village. She sacrificed her own schooling and supported her siblings' education in Imphal. In 2023, she took ill and was referred to CMC Vellore for operation. Unfortunately, in the ongoing violence since May 3, 2023, they lost their house including all their properties and the family could not take her to CMC Vellore for treatment. I tried helping her treatment in Vellore but unsuccessful. I felt very sad. There are increasing number of patients in similar condition due to lack of healthcare and there is no way that we can help them with other overwhelming basic needs. The best way to end this suffering is to stop the ongoing violence and bring peace. Please continue to pray for peace in Manipur.
