Sri Venkateswara College of Pharmacy (Autonomous), Chittoor, successfully conducted the final day of its six-day e-Faculty Development Program (e-FDP) titled “AI Innovation: Bridging Research Gaps and Enhancing Teaching in Drug Repurposing,” held from April 20 to 25, 2026.
The concluding session, organised on April 25, 2026, from 10:30 AM to 12:30 PM, focused on the theme “From Claims to Cures: Leveraging AI and Real-World Evidence in Modern Drug Discovery.”
The session was delivered by Dr Harini Vadlamudi, M.Pharm., PhD, Lead RWD Programmer at RIIRU, RWP Team, R&D Translational and Development Sciences, GSK India Global Services Private Limited, Bengaluru.
The expert lecture provided valuable insights into the integration of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Real-World Evidence (RWE) in accelerating drug discovery and development.
Dr Vadlamudi highlighted how AI-driven analytics and real-world clinical data are transforming traditional pharmaceutical research by enhancing decision-making, improving patient outcomes, and bridging the gap between laboratory findings and clinical applications.
The program commenced with a formal inaugural session. Dr C. Radhika delivered the welcome address, warmly greeting the distinguished resource person, faculty members, and participants, and emphasising the importance of such academic initiatives in strengthening research and teaching methodologies.
Following this, Dr B. Swaroopa introduced the resource person with a comprehensive overview of her academic credentials, research accomplishments, and professional journey, setting the stage for an engaging and informative session.
The session was skilfully anchored by Mrs P. Chandrakala, whose effective coordination ensured a smooth, interactive, and well-organised flow of the program.
Her efforts contributed significantly to maintaining audience engagement throughout the session.
The program concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Mrs B. Yuva Rani, who expressed sincere appreciation to the resource person for sharing her expertise, as well as to the organising committee and participants for their enthusiastic involvement and support.
Overall, the Day 6 session marked a successful conclusion to the six-day FDP, with active participation from faculty members and delegates.
The program effectively enhanced knowledge on emerging AI applications in drug repurposing and reinforced the institution’s commitment to academic excellence, research innovation, and continuous professional development in pharmaceutical education.
