শেষ পর্যন্ত রিয়ো চানেরও যুদ্ধে যাওয়ার ডাক এসে গেল। তোমোই স্কুলের দারোয়ান। যাকে ছাড়া তোমোই অচল। তাকে বিদায় দেওয়ার দিন একটি টি পার্টির আয়োজন করলেন হেডমাস্টার মশাই। বিদায় শব্দটির ছোটদের মনে কোনো প্রভাব পড়তে না দেওয়াই ছিল তাঁর উদ্দেশ্য। তাই শব্দটি বর্জন করে তিনি 'টি পার্টি' নামটি ব্যবহার করলেন।
ছাত্রছাত্রীরা নিজেদের মনের কথা উজার করে বলল রিয়ো চানকে। সবার শেষে তোত্তো চান কী বললো? বিদায় বেলার ক্ষণ কিভাবে হাসি, গল্পে পূর্ণ হয়ে উঠল?

বি 29 বোমারু বিমানের আঘাতে পুড়ে ছাই হয়ে গেল, মড়মড় করে ভেঙে পড়ল তোমোই গাকুয়েন স্কুল। কোনো ক্রমে বাঁচল হেডমাস্টার মশাইয়ের পরিবার। তাঁর চিরপরিচিত রং চটা থ্রি পিস স্যুট গায়ে, পকেটে হাত দিয়ে চিরপরিচিত ভঙ্গিতে কি উচ্চারণ করলেন তিনি নিজের ইউনিভার্সিটিতে পাঠরত বড় ছেলের উদ্দেশ্যে? সেই ছেলের নামটিও যে 'তোমোই'। তাঁর স্বপ্নের 'তোমোই'। আগুন কি পারল তাঁর চিরপ্রশান্ত, চির উদ্যমী, চির সবুজ মনকে পুড়িয়ে ফেলতে?
আর তোত্তো চান? রেলগাড়ি স্কুলে তার সহযাত্রীরা? তাদের কী হল? ভবিষ্যতেই বা কী করবে তারা? যুদ্ধবিধ্বস্ত তোকিও ছেড়ে কোথায় যাবে তারা?

As a part of the 120 hrs Internship programme on Manuscriptology, Palaeography and Conservation of Manuscripts by SDMT Institute of Indological Studies (i-indo-s), 30 students of the Department of History of Jhargram Raj College visited The Asiatic Society, Kolkata. They were accompanied by Somenath Chatterjee, Director, SDMT Institute of Indological Studies (i-indo-s) and the faculties of Department of History, Jhargram Raj College, Jhargram, West Bengal. They visited the Museum of the Society, Library Section (Books, Journals and Reference section), Conservation section, the Heritage Building, the Vidyasagar Hall, etc.
