The School was established in the year 1970 as St. Anne's English Medium Nursery School in Kilpauk, Chennai, and became a Primary School in the year 1976. Sornammal Educational Trus
t took over the school in April 2001 and named it SET Anne’s School of Excellence and shifted it from Kilpauk to Ayanavaram, Chennai. The school started functioning in its new name 'SORNAMMAL MATRICULATION SCHOOL' from November 2006. The school was upgraded as a Higher Secondary School in June 2009. Sornammal Educational Trust
The Trust was established in the year 1996 by three professionals from Ma Foi Management Consultants Ltd., which is one of India’s leading HR Service Providers. Initially the Trust worked in Sivakasi District, by sponsoring students and providing them with the means to continue their schooling, thus preventing them from becoming victims of circumstances. The Trust focuses in providing Quality Education to all the students. It ensures that holistic development takes place and also provides Scholarships to the students who are academically strong but economically weak.
