The Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering in Association with IEEE MGR Student Chapter conducted a Guest Lecture on “Automotive Power Train Topology “on 5th March 2022. The Speaker of the session was Mr.Barath Murugan, Embedded Software Engineer, Robert Bosch Engineering and Business Solutions, Coimbatore, India. His area of interest is Autonomous car and ADAS enthusiast and Extrovert with professional experience in Embedded Software Engineering and core competency areas including RTOS, Multi-core, Automotive electronics, Complex Low-Level driver development. The Guest lecture was held via Google Meet platform and more than 80 students participated. The session commenced around 11.00 A.M. He shared his experience in Automotive Power Train Topology.
At the beginning of the lecture he gave the usage of electronics in Automotive industries, leads to better control over the vehicle, emission reduction, Fuel efficiency, improved human-vehicle interaction. He also discuss on different types of electronics used in vehicles such as power train control, body and chasis control, Autonomous driving and connected cars, Transmission control and Infotainment and cluster systems. He had explained about the Electronics control unit (ECU) with block diagram and also ECU SW architecture – component model and also major initiative towards standardization was discussed.
Finally, he explained in detail on the Overview of Engine Management System (EMS) with Electronics control unit (ECU). The lecture concluded with Q & A session. The session was highly interactive throughout the session and the event was an eye opener for the students to apply technical knowledge in automotive industries.
At the outset, we would like to thank our Honourable President for the support and encouragement and also would like to thank our Vice Chancellor, Pro vice Chancellor, Registrar & Additional Registrar for the support and motivation to conduct the event.

The Department of EEE and Office of International Relations in association with IEEE MGR Student Chapter organized a Technical Talk on “Nano-products and its innovative Biomedical Applications” on 02.06.2021 from 2.00 p.m. to 3.15 p.m. The Resource person was Dr.M.Chamundeedwari, Associate Professor, Department of Biotechnology, St.Joseph’s College of Engineering. We wholeheartedly thank our Honorable President Sir and Executives of our University for giving us the opportunity and support to conduct the event. We express our heartfelt thanks to Prof.Dr. S.GeethaLakshmi , Vice-Chancellor madam for delivering the inaugural address . The welcome address was proposed by Dr.S.Bhuvaneswari, Asst Prof/EEE. Ms.Rengammal Sankari, Asst Prof/EEE introduced the Speaker. The Speaker started with an introduction of Nanotechnology, its background, DNA, and nanoparticle advantages. She elaborated on Gold nanoparticles, Preparation of the nanocomposites from nature, Magnetic nanoparticles from goat, Fabrication of various composites. She also explained how IoT and AI can be incorporated into the development of nanoparticles. She also gave a brief explanation of the Research works the speaker has carried in the area of Nanoparticles. She concluded with the various applications of nanoparticles in Biology, Biomedical and Electronic applications, Health care applications, and 4 P matras in handling and consuming the drugs. The vote of thanks was proposed by Ms.B.Bhavithra, IV year BMI.
The event was organized with an intention to provide knowledge for students and faculty members in the current scenario which could encourage them to invent a new innovative idea to solve the current situation. 95 participants from inside and outside our Institution participated in this event.
The Event was conducted successfully due to the driving force by Dr.E.Sheeba Percis, HoD/EEE, support and guidance by Dr.A.Nalini, Dy HoD/EEE, Dr. Kowsalya, Dean-Office of International Relations, and Ms.S.T.Rama, Asst, Prof/EEE.
