Book Talk 📚✨ - A new little ritual has been growing in MinnaMinni Story Circle.

It began quietly, with one child bringing a book to share. Slowly, it has become a space where children show up with stories they love, speak about them in their own words, and listen to one another with curiosity.

There are favourite characters, funny moments, book recommendations that make others want to read the book too.

What we love most is how naturally it is unfolding — children are learning to speak, listen, remember, describe, and recommend, all through books they have chosen for themselves.

A small ritual, but a beautiful step towards building a reading and thinking culture.

Most programmes keep children busy.

Every child is already a thinker. A maker. A storyteller. An explorer.

✦ Find Your Spark ✦ is built around that belief.

Five days. Two age cohorts. Small groups of six each. A space where your child gets to move freely, make real things, ask big questions, and choose the activities that they like.

Each day builds on the last. A story written on Wednesday will become a performance on Sunday family showcase. A question posed during a science experiment might end up as a zine that is exhibited on Sunday. Nothing is wasted. Everything connects.

Sprouts (6–9) work through play, story, and their hands. Explorers (10–14) take on projects and complexity, debate and creative autonomy. Different approaches, same space — and when the two groups come together, the older children lead and the younger ones stretch. Everyone grows in both directions.

Along the way, your child will build and practise Learning & Innovation Skills — one of the four pillars of MinnaMinni’s 21st century life skills curriculum. Skills that matter most right now and in the years ahead— creativity and innovation, critical thinking and problem solving, communication and collaboration. Not as subjects. As ways of being in a space and relating to each other.

They'll leave with a portfolio journal full of their own work, reflecting on skills they actually practised, and a personalised written note about how they think and learn.

Every exam season, we put nearly 259 million children under pressure - and call it education.
And when that pressure rises, we reach for whatever we think will help.

Earlier it was God and tuition.
Now it is God, tuition, and AI.

One of my students recently showed me a video titled: "How to study so fast it feels like cheating - using AI."

They hesitated before showing it, worried I might be upset.

I wasn't.

Because the problem is not AI.
The real problem is the belief that AI can replace thinking, learning, or the relationship between a child and the people who guide them.

AI is a tool. Its value depends entirely on how it is used.

Swipe to slide 3 to see how we used AI with an 11th grade student to build a structured study system - breaking down topics, organising revision cycles with mind maps, and planning exam preparation. Not to skip the thinking. To do it better.

But that work pointed to something deeper.

Exam readiness and subject mastery are not the same thing.

Exam preparation is about strategy and efficiency.
Mastery requires time, mistakes, and iteration — and a relationship where a child can say "I don't know" without fear of judgement, and someone is there to hold that space and believe in them anyway.

In slide 4, you'll see exactly that moment.

Most schooling systems are designed to finish the syllabus and clear exams.
Mastery is slower. It often happens outside the timetable — in conversations, in questions asked freely, in mistakes made without shame.

But sometimes it also happens inside a structure the child built by themselves.

In slide 5, you'll see a student who decided to wake at 6am — not because we told them to, but because they chose it. Who scheduled their homework, their revision, and work on creating a comic (one of the projects we are building together in the personal mentorship programme). Who designed their own learning system.

That is what deeper learning looks like when it has the right kind of support.

A space where a child can:
· explore freely
· experiment without fear
· understand how they learn
· build deep confidence
· face any challenge without shrinking

That is the work we do at MinnaMinni.

Perhaps the real question is not how fast we can learn — but what we are actually learning for.

And whether the child gets to be part of answering that question themselves.

What happens when children step away from screens and classrooms and learn directly from the land?

MinnaMinni Enrichment Centre, in association with GreenAra Farm, is launching Mannarivu — an immersive weekend experience where children explore sustainability by walking the land, working with natural materials, sharing resources, and building real solutions together.

This is hands-on, collaborative learning designed to nurture curiosity, responsibility, and a deeper relationship with the natural world.

Because learning about the earth is different when children experience it with their hands, minds, and community. 🌱

Most education systems teach subjects.
We cultivate living systems.

Responsible living and sustainability cannot be taught as a chapter.
They must be experienced as living systems — where ecological understanding, social responsibility, design thinking, and collaborative action grow together.

At a time of ecological and social decline, education must move beyond awareness to building the systems that allow responsible living to take root.

This visual represents the interdisciplinary sustainability education project we are building at MinnaMinni.

At its centre is 'Responsible Living in Action', supported by ecological foundations, regenerative design, social infrastructure, and a culture of stewardship — strengthened through learning, participation, reflection and real-world collaboration.

Which is why the framework moves through
Ecology → Society → Design → Action → Culture — a living feedback loop.

Our upcoming "Mannarivu — Learning from the Earth" programme offers children a short immersion into this ecosystem of learning with .in as the steward leader.

🌱 The programme is the spark.
🏗️ The long-term journey is the engine.

Because responsible living is not something we teach once.
It is something we cultivate slowly.
