As way back as 1993 IMC developed the country's first software-based Morse Code trainer-cum-signaler and introduced simulator-based training for courses in Marine Electronics. Today IMC, with diversified synergies within the Marine Technology arena, is the country's leading technology-based trainer for the Maritime Industry. IMC was the 1st institution in India to be recognized by the Indian Government for GMDSS training using self-developed simulator, which is now type-approved by DNV. IMC’s firm belief that the best method of imparting knowledge and skill is through use of simulators, had lead them to be well-known for and synonymous with simulator-based training. IMC has also invested heavily in development of various maritime training simulators, in the name of Elektronik Lab. In fact, IMC is the first Institute in India to be conducting all Self-developed/ Integrated simulator-based courses under one roof, viz.,
