In the Mental health space, understanding issues and exploring through thoughts, feelings, and motivations are crucial. Especially for psychology students, there is a great need to apply the concept in real-life situations. In any context, our journey of self-growth begins with understanding self, others, and the world.
We at Giant Leap, had an opportunity to conduct Life skills training for psychology students on Self Awareness, Communication, Developing Close Relationships, Values, Interpersonal Skills, Conflicts, and Practicalities of psychology.
It was a wonderful experience for myself and the team with enthusiastic participants.
We thank the management for this opportunity to share our knowledge with the learner community!

Alex Haley, a famous American writer says, “In Every Conceivable Manner, the Family Is Link to Our Past, Bridge to Our Future”.
A couple of days back took a virtual session on Spending Quality Time with Family as a part of Employee Engagement. Even though, we could rationalize the need to spend time with our beloveds, not all of us could do with comfort, joy, and freedom. So long as we don’t drop the driver called Ego out, our harmonious living with family remains questionable.
Most of us think, in these busy times, planning for a vacation or buying expensive gifts is good enough to compensate for the lost time. However, mental health professionals say it’s important to honor all 365 days with undivided attention to spend quality minutes a day with family can boost self-esteem, better decision-making, reduces stress, improves understanding, builds trust, nurtures bonding, and sharing & caring become effortless.
Again, the person who values family would bring people together, support each other and use creative skills to grow every member through unconditional positive regard despite busy schedules. It could be an indoor game, storytelling, sharing a day’s experience, playing shuttle, feeding pets or picking up any hobby, collecting memories, or scheduling a movie time can be rewarding if you invest 100% in building relationships. Both our younger and elder generation needs our presence both physically, mentally, and emotionally.

Its important to equip the core members of the organization with necessary knowledge in creating safe environment for women employees to function at their best.
The major functions of the Internal Complaints Committee involve implementing the Policy relating to the prevention of sexual harassment, resolving complaints by the aggrieved and recommending actions to be taken by the employer.
We need each other support to establish growth on long term basis. An open mind about people well being, knowledge of streamlining discipline at workplace, keeping bullies at bay, be mindful and respectful of our co-workers, can give more power and create well established interpersonal relationships function better.

Thanks Giving is a welcoming activity at the workplace too. Every single person yearns for love and desires to belong. In the ever-changing times, there are often conversations related to work, targets to be met, or any other problem area. Seldom do we appreciate people nor make an effort to look for good qualities in others. Emotional neglect and not honoring the person's deeds at the workplace or any social setup can have a bitter impact on the company’s growth.
In order to build a strong relationship, we can connect through Thanks Giving as well. Gratitude works in three main aspects, one with the feeling part, the other with an expression of such feeling, and finally, helps to adopt new behavior towards people, places, anything, or everything. Gratitude helps people feel more positive emotions, relish good experiences, improve their health, deal with adversity, and create a safe environment for free expression.
Here is how we can inculcate gratitude in daily interactions among employees.
1. Greet each other with a smile as a token of expressing gratitude.
2. Know their Love language 😊 It could be a genuine compliment, offering a cup of coffee, completing work on time, surprise celebration, reward, or thunderous applauses.
3. Presenting a Thank you card
4. Sharing memories of your association with Bosses, Team leaders, colleagues, admin staff, backend professionals, security, housekeeping staff, and whomsoever impacted you.
5. Create a bulletin board to announce your thankfulness for e.g.,’; I am thankful to Mr. # # #, for the support and this has helped me to become # # # or simply Thank you Mr. # # # (It can be a conditional or unconditional stroke)
6. Set aside prayer time for each other well-being.
7. Announce your learnings for the day with at least two people at the workplace/community.
8. Letter of appreciation passed on through higher or lower or horizontal or vertical hierarchy or vendors or clients.
Such acts will subconsciously create an uplifting culture for business and personal growth. NO more Gossips, NO more False promises, No more Frustration, No more Fake smiles, No more Manipulation, No more Hatredness, No more taking credit for other person IDEAS, No more Abuse, No more DRAMA, No more Insecurities & No more selfishness, No more blaming.
Instead, a loving, respectful, trusted, and Learning environment can lead us to a better future. What do you say?

Do you mean to say, I keep affirming and it manifests? Is it enough? No
Arey, what’s this YES & NO?
Listen, Affirmations are statements that help to retrain your subconscious mind. They are one of the powerful tools to set a new neural pathway. While it is true that repetition can change your habits, behavior, and point of view, it's equally important to work for it.
For example, I affirm saying: I see through the eyes of love every day, then it is my moral responsibility to abide by it.
First, affirm, then get into action, thus repeating them frequently. believing in them and taking conscious action will lead to a change of thoughts, and behavior, and overcoming self-defeating ideas thereby, you would begin to see good results.
It is suggested that writing affirmations down in a journal and practicing them in the mirror makes them more powerful and effective.
Affirmations work in all dimensions of life. Here are some of the powerful ones:
1. I use my talents to complete the work with ease.
2. I love working with creative and talented people.
3. I am richly rewarded for my unique ideas and accomplishments
4. “My talents are recognized. My talents are in demand. I open my arms to prosperity"
5. Every experience is perfect for my growth
6. I love & respect every cell of my body with good nourishment
7. I awaken today, appreciating everything in sight, and I give thanks.
8. I now free myself from destructive fears and doubts.

Nowadays, Relaxation is such a luxurious choice and often kept as the last one to choose from. Instead of getting burnt out and then planning a vacation or day off, a proactive decision to cultivate healthy routines for mind, body, and soul will help make oneself productive, happy, and curious to perform.
As organizational members, we invest our minds in being productive, creative, and effective to achieve set goals to enliven the company’s vision. Every member be it an employer or employee, has each of their attributes in their best way, and its quite natural to feel tired, uninteresting or challenging at times. This sort of feeling would invite stress and affects the health and mental well-being. This may result in absenteeism and the change of job, a loss to the company in terms of money, skill and manpower. In order to avoid such pit falls, it would be an intelligent move to set aside a few minutes with the following activities to promote wellness at workplace.
Meditation – Focus on breathing, chant,ing or simply closing your eyes for a few minutes
Yoga – simple stretches to stay active
Artworks & Doodling (Just leave some papers, colors, crayons, and color sheets and see the magic)
Library – Drop everything to read for a while and note down your insights sharpens your ability to comprehend and we never know where the crazy idea can emerge!
Short Nap – 20 mts power Nap to rejuvenate oneself
Gardening – It could be cleaning, plucking leaves, and flowers, sowing seeds, knowing different names of trees, etc.
Music Hub – An excellent space to invite singers, musicians, and lyricists of your company
Prayer – for family & all
Gaming – Play your favorite game and get to the space of I can do it and I am good at it!
Nature walk – Barefoot walking, observing the trees, listening to chirping birds, etc
Journaling – Gratitude, Emotions, List of Have’s and achievements, aspirations, goals
Craftworks – origami, Jewelry making, macrame, weaving
Puzzles, Riddles, or memory games or Sport Quiz
Humor club – Nothing works as the humor does!
We can choose any of these activities to destress and you could see the bonding among the members grow stronger. Stress management is not a one-day activity, it is a healthy disciplinary routine requiring many sets of activities to stay present, fresh, and happy.
Such BREAK TIME activities are worth TRYING, What do you say?
