What does it take to turn an “impossible” dream into reality?

For Sheetal Devi, it meant rewriting the rules of archery and her own life.
Born without arms, she refused to let her circumstances define her. She learned to hold the bow with her toes, notch arrows with her mouth, and use the powerful muscles in her legs, chest, and shoulders to shoot with the grace and precision of a champion.

Last year, she gave India a moment to remember by winning a Paralympic bronze in the mixed team event. But she wasn’t ready to stop there.

“Whenever I see the medals I've won, I feel inspired to win more. Even when I shoot a nine, I'm only thinking about how I can convert that into a 10.” she told ESPN.

On Saturday, Sheetal defeated world No. 1 Öznur Cure Girdi of Turkiye 146–143, becoming the world’s first armless woman to win gold at the World Para Archery Championship.

“I had a dream that I would become a world champion. It made me want to work. Today I've got such a good result,” she added.

Today, she’s not just a medalist — she’s the world champion.

The World Health Organization (WHO) has declared a new variant of coronavirus, found in South Africa and UK, to be "of concern" and named it Omicron.

The variant , initally named B.1.1.529, appeared to be increasing in almost all of South Africa's provinces.
The B.1.1.529 variant was first reported to WHO from South Africa on 24 November 2021. This variant has a large number of mutations, some of which are concerning. WHO has designated B.1.1.529 as a Variant of Concern (VOC).
A virus variant becomes a variant of concern when that mutation might affect things like transmissibility, virulence or the effectiveness of vaccines.
Health official warned that vaccines would "almost certainly" be less effective against the new variant.
Flights from South Africa, Botswana, Zimbabwe, Namibia, Lesotho, Eswatini, Mozambique and Malawi to US and European countries would be blocked from 29 November 2021.
