Originally known as Alagappa Chettiar College of Technology under Madras University. Now a part of the Anna University Campus Chennai.
While traveling by train during the 1940s, A. Lakshmanaswami Mudaliar, Vice Chancellor of Madras University, had a casual conversation with Alagappa Chettiar and mentioned his interest of starting technology related courses in Chennai. The casual talk inspired the philanthropist, and he donated an amount of five hundred thousand Indian rupees for the formation of a college. This led to the establishment of Alagappa College of Technology.

Today's program by Chemical Industries Association (CIA) at Raman Auditorium went well. Many thanks to @~Meenakshisundaram and @~Jayapriya Jayaprakash for helping to make the program happen at Raman Auditorium. 👍💐💐🙏
The attendees were happy to conduct program at Actech. A win win for both. Many students got opportunity to interact with Industry leaders.

The First MoU of ACTRF signed with Saint Gobain supported by an alumni Mr. Eisenhower.
The MoU will enable SG to sponsor 3 girl students of MTech from Ceramic, Chemical, Biotech and Safety with a monthly stipend for 2 years.
The student will be working on the industry problems mutually agreed by SG and Dept concerned. SG will provide internship to the students in their facility and may provide job opportunities if found suitable.
Hope this may set the basis for other industries to come in for student sponsorships going forward.
