கூட்டம் குறைந்ததும் கடலில் குதித்துவிடும் எண்ணத்துடன் கடற்கரையில் உட்கார்ந்திருந்தான் அந்த இளைஞன்.

பிசினஸில் அடுத்து ஒரு பெரிய நஷ்டத்தை சந்திக்க வேண்டி வரும் என்று உணர்ந்த சமயத்தில், அதை எப்படி எதிர்கொள்வது என்ற தைரியம் இல்லாமல்தான் அவன் அந்த முடிவை எடுத்திருந்தான்.

அவன் அப்படி உட்கார்ந்திருந்த சமயத்தில் சற்று தொலைவில் கயிற்றில் கட்டிய பலூனை கையில் வைத்து விளையாடிக் கொண்டிருந்தாள் ஒரு சிறுமி. சற்று முன்னர் அதை வாங்கிக் கொடுக்க மறுத்த அவள் அம்மாவிடம், அதை அடம்பிடித்து அவள் வாங்கியதையும் அவன் கவனித்திருந்தான்.

கையில் பிடித்திருந்த நூலில் கடற்கரை காற்றுக்கு தகுந்தவாறு அலைந்து கொண்டிருந்த பலூனை ஆவலுடன் ரசித்தபடி விளையாடிக் கொண்டிருந்த சிறுமியைப் பார்க்கவே அழகாய் இருந்தது என்றாலும் அவன் அதை ரசிக்கும் நிலையில் இல்லை. ஏற்கனவே காற்று அதிகமாய் இருந்தநிலையில், இப்போது திடீரென வீசிய பலத்த காற்று பலூனை பறித்து மிக வேகமாக எட்ட முடியாத உயரத்துக்கு தூக்கிச் செல்ல, இனி இதற்குவேறு இந்த சிறுமி அழுது ஆர்ப்பாட்டம் செய்வாளே என்று எண்ணினான் அந்த இளைஞன்.

ஆனால், அங்கு நடந்ததே வேறு. தான் ஆசையுடன் வாங்கிய பலூனை காற்று பறித்துக் கொண்டு போனதைப் பார்த்து ஒரு கணம் அதிர்ந்தாலும், மறுகணமே வானத்தை நோக்கி செல்லும் பலூனைப் பார்த்து மகிழ்ச்சியுடன், "அடடே.!" என்று கைதட்டி உற்சாகமாக கத்தினாள் அந்தச் சிறுமி. காற்று பலூனை அலைக்கழிக்கும் திசையெல்லாம் ஓடி அவள் இப்போது வேறு ஒரு புதிய விளையாட்டை ஆரம்பித்திருந்தாள். சற்றுநேரம் அலைக்கழித்த காற்று பலமிழந்து இப்போது பலூனை கீழே இறக்க, மீண்டும் பலூனை கைப்பற்ற ஓடினாள் அவள்.

பார்த்துக்கொண்டிருந்த இளைஞனுக்கு எதோ புரிந்தது போல் இருந்தது.

டக்கென்று அலைபேசியை எடுத்து அலுவலகத்திற்கு அழைத்து, "என்னாயிற்று.?" என்று கேட்டவன், "எதிர்பார்த்த நஷ்டம் நிகழ்ந்து விட்டது.!" என்ற கவலை மிகுந்த எதிர்முனை பதிலுக்குப் பிறகு, "சரி.. இதை எப்படி சரி செய்யலாம் என்று யோசியுங்கள். இன்னும் அரை மணியில் அலுவலகத்தில் இருந்பேன்.!" என்றபடி நம்பிக்கையுடன் கடற்கரையில் இருந்து கிளம்பினான் அந்த இளைஞன்.

நிஜம்தான். யாரும் நஷ்டத்திற்காக பிசினஸ் செய்யப்போவதில்லை என்றாலும், எதிர்பாராத சமயங்களில் நஷ்டமும் நிகழத்தான் செய்கிறது. ஆனால், எந்த நஷ்டம் நிகழ்ந்தாலும், அதைப் பார்த்து "அய்யோ.!" என்று சோர்ந்து உட்காருவதா... இல்லை "அடடே.!" என்று எழுந்து அதை எதிர்கொள்வதா என்பதை நாம்தான் முடிவு செய்ய வேண்டும்.!
