EXPERT TALK ON GASTROENTEROLOGY

The Department of Biochemistry , S.I.V.E.T. College, organized an insightful expert lecture on “Gastroenterology”by Dr. M. Srinivas, MBBS, MRCP (UK), FRCP (London), Consultant Medical Gastroenterologist, Gleneagles Hospital / Fortis Network Hospital.

Dr. M. Srinivas, with over 25 years of professional experience, shared his extensive clinical and research expertise in the field of Gastroenterology. He provided students with valuable insights into gastrointestinal disorders, diagnostic procedures, endoscopy, inflammatory bowel diseases, motility disorders and the importance of early diagnosis and appropriate medical management.

During his engaging session, he discussed the clinical significance of gastroscopy, colonoscopy, video capsule endoscopy and esophageal/anorectal motility studies. He also highlighted recent developments and research in Gastroenterology and emphasized the importance of continuous learning, clinical observation and evidence-based medical practice.

The session provided students with an opportunity to gain knowledge directly from an experienced medical professional and understand the scope, advancements and career opportunities associated with healthcare and medical sciences.

The PG & Research Department of Commerce, S.I.V.E.T. College, Gowrivakkam, Chennai, conducted the Department Association Inauguration for 2026–27 on 3rd September 2026 at the PTR Auditorium.

Prof. S. Charlesjailsingh, Assistant Professor, Loyola College, served as the Resource Person and shared valuable academic and career insights with the students.

The programme concluded successfully with the active participation of the faculty and students.

The Department of Commerce (General) of Self-finance stream, in association with the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI), Chengalpattu District, organised a Career Counselling Programme on “Career in Accounting & Finance for Youth (CAFY)” on 20th August 2026 for the 2nd year students. The programme was organised with an objective of creating awareness among students about the diverse career opportunities available in the fields of Accounting, Finance and the Chartered Accountancy profession.
The programme provided students with valuable insights into the Chartered Accountancy course, its scope, eligibility, examination pattern, career prospects and professional opportunities.
The programme was highly interactive, with students actively participating in the session and clarifying their doubts regarding the CA course, examinations, articleship and career opportunities.
