India has launched its first mission to Mars! If successful, 10 months from now the country will become the first Asian nation to reach the Red Planet. The probe will explore Mars's surface features, minerals, atmosphere and moons. But making it there will be the biggest achievement - more than half of all Mars missions have failed. It's an exciting day for space exploration, good luck!

WildCat – the fastest four-legged untethered robot

Believe it or not, but Boston Dynamics has done something unthinkable! The company which has made a name for itself for coming up with humanoid robots as Atlas and Petman, has finally unveiled their new robot. WildCat (as it has been named) is capable of galloping like any horse or cheetah.

The United Nations is about to approve a set of measures to protect our planet from the dangers of incoming asteroids—and it was about time: there are millions of asteroids orbiting the sun and 10,000 are considered near-Earth objects. The guidelines include global coordination and a response plan.

Venomous crustaceans? A blind remipede (Speleonectes tulumensis) living in underwater caves in Western Australia, Canary Islands and the Caribbean is the only known venomous crustacean. Its powerful toxin, which is similar to that found in rattlesnake’s fangs, first paralyses the victim and then liquefies it. Once the ‘feast’ has been liquefied, the remipede will suck the juices through the victim's shell.

GOLD GROWS on eucalyptus trees. Researchers discovered that the trees are acting as a hydraulic pump, extracting gold from the soil and moving it to their leaves and branches. The ‘nuggets’ are about one-fifth the diameter of human hair, but the leaves may be used in combination with other tools to develop better exploration techniques.
