Good news! IITMSAT qualification testing is completed. The qualification model survived up to 8g of acceleration and 72 hours of vacuum with temperature cycling.
IIT Madras Student Satellite Project
The IIT Madras Student Satellite Project is a student-initiated inter-disciplinary project that aims to develop and launch a small satellite in technical collaboration with Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO). The satellite has a unique scientific objective of measuring the energy spectrum of protons and electrons in the upper-ionosphere. This data will be valuable for research on the effect of lightning storms, solar flares and seismic activity on the Earth’s ionosphere.

IIT Madras alumnus, Dr. Krishna Chivukula (Chairman, Indo-US MIM Tec Pvt Ltd) has committed to financially support IITMSAT project with a generous gift of INR 150 Lakhs as the project reaches successive milestones.
An MoU was signed between Indo-US MIM Tec Pvt Ltd and IIT Madras on 2nd Sep 2014.
