Moonshadow, Dionysia, Atarah, Octavia and Utsav took place over the course of the first semester of 2019, each gallantly organised by one of the 5 Halls with respect to their event. All the events were a success, embedding themselves in the minds of all those who took part.

As each year goes by and the sets of people change, so does the cabinet; each cabinet striving to be responsible and to bring something new in the posts they were elected in. These are the 2018-2019 and 2019-2020 cabinets at Martin Hall at the induction in 2019. As 2020 has striven to be a very trying year already, Martin Hall hopes that the resilience of humanity will come out on top.

Back in 2008, one family had come to Madras Christian College to drop their daughter who was going to start a course in BSc Physics. Her mother was frightened seeing guys with long hair wearing t shirts with pirates picture and had zombies tattoos. Her father had no fear in his eyes as if he had known that she was gonna survive.
That was MCC in 2008. The campus was more liberalised. The securities used to have tea with the Hall mates. The professors used to fly with the students. They taught us to think beyond the books and trusted us to give enough freedom to choose our life. The boys with guitar were found handsome and the girls who could walk the ramp were found sexy. We used to jog around the campus with our teachers and had attended class in whatever attire we pleased. That was an era before whatsapp and instagram. The gutters and Boxing ring used to be our group chat locations. We didn't roam around the campus just to take selfies and upload on facebook but to breathe the refreshing air. While morning college ruled the Bell tower and cafeteria, evening college made their marks on Zoo tank and evening cafe. More than a day scholar, a Hallmate knew the campus in depth. In our time, getting a seat in Hall was a big deal. We fought for our place and was and always will be loyal to it. Yes, we were called as Martinians, queen of the campus, the inmates of MCC's first residential hall for women.
Why Martin Hall is my personal favorite?
1.Ours was the last batch who were called as Mighties with 4 yrs in the Hall. We were not allowed to stay on campus in our first year due to limited seats.
2.There were minor raggings, I wouldn't lie, but it had helped us to get close to our seniors. I would brag about it coz I was the favorite of many 😜. The feeling of living in a Mighty's room in ur final year which u had cleaned in ur first year is beyond explanation.
3.Martin Hall has helped me to improvise my talents. There were talent nights, Intra Hall competitions, L&D meetings and Entertainments. We have won many shields. Be it college auditions, Inter Hall meets, Deep woods or outside campus fests, Martinians were everywhere.
4. Martin has given me friends for life; enemies too 😂. Having friendship with current Martinians even after 5 yrs of Graduation is awesome. Don't u see a link here? Sisterhood is forever.
5. Martin has found me the love of my life. Yea, you heard that right. I m wed-locked to a Kattan since 2015 😍. Thats a story for another day. I ll save it now.
6. Martin has laid foundation to my career. The title of Best Outgoing Student and winning Agnes Martin Award 2013 has been the highlight in my resume.
What more could I have asked for? Dear Martin Hall, I miss you every single day. I wouldn't miss a chance to go back and just chill in the lawn. Dear Martinians, this place is Gem. The memories just dig ur heart and sits there and tickles you in btw. Remember, Sisterhood is for life.
Martin lives Martin wins Martin reigns over them all Martin rules Martin leads Martin triumphant forever more go Martin. Up Up Martin!!!

One day I saw a child jumping and dancing for no reason and I thought about the time I did something like that.
I remember of a rainy night in Martin hall when all of us would get to the lawn and jump and dance all around, splash water and dump each other in the pond.
Martin hall seemed to be everything we owned. We never slept in peace because our dreams were million and they got the fire when we became martinians. Martin Hall, I would say is everything to me. The best and the worst but all for my good. Martin helped me to travel inside my inner self to see the peace and chaos in the galaxy within me. I always wondered how the ex martinians lived their lives after they left Martin. Now when I also have become one among them, I guess I've understood it. I feel an emptiness, a longing, a song I sang but I can't sing anymore of it because I don't own it like I used to. Now I am part of the women of the world who long to live like they used to- sitting in the pond and gazing at the stars, singing our parts of the acapella, laughing at each other's horrific creative lines, knocking doors at midnight for movies and goodies. Late night seemed like a bright day practicing for hall day, college auditions moonshadow and all. We were there for each other when we needed something to wear for hall days and when someone felt the need to talk, we were there for each other. The mess hall was the greatest theatre to be at....... Aaaaaah they're all now just memories of the way I used to live. And now it's just so hard to say GoodBye to yesterday. Martin hall will always be my sunshine after every rain.

Back in 2013, walking upto the general secretary's room was nothing short of a nightmare! 5 years later, I left the room with a bag full of memories and a squad of sisters for life! My name is Elan Achamma Thomas, and I'm one among the few who were blessed to be able to call Martin a home away from home for five years. What has the place taught me?To never give up no matter how harsh the situations turn out to be. To face the storm with a smile on the face and that the storm would eventually pass... and yes, to transform my insecurities into my strength
So, the corridor that connects the Jubilee and Extension blocks was mostly a quiet zone at night (or was atleast supposed to be ). However, during my first year in Martin, when my ever-loving friends were motivated to squish me into a pulp and would chase me around the hall, my first escape route used to be that corridor. Biologically, since God had blessed me abundantly in the height section, I was always very hard to find.So when I was being chased by my friends, I usually ran past the Sport's Secretary's door, and the exact moment that I crossed the door, she would open her door hearing the loud commotion outside. Neither her nor my friends found me, as I would immediately hide behind the open door. Even more interesting was the part where she would chide my friends for creating such a ruckus in the middle of the night. During those instances, my shortness (which used to be my insecurity) turned out to be a blessing in disguise.. As people who knew me well rightfully pointed out, " You must be the shortest general secretary in the history of Martin Hall". Well I was, and I hope I did a fair job being one.

The Theme for the 49th Hall day of Martin Hall 'Araila' means Lion Princess. Araila is the embodiment of the women of Martin Hall . We are all endowed with the glory of womanhood and we are truly proud to be Martinians.
