E_Invoicing is going to be the future of GST in the short run and the world of Accounting in the Long run.

The following road map has been indicated by the Govt. during interactions with public and as reported in various newspapers -

• By 1 st Jan 2021 e invoicing will be available to taxpayers having a turnover Rs 100 Crore in any Preceding Financial year
• It will be finally made available to all taxpayers for B2B and Export transactions from 1 st April 2021
• E invoicing shall the physical invoice and shall soon replace the existing e way bill system and taxpayers will not have to generate separate e way bills

It is also to be observed that the GST Law has been amended to provide that, any invoice which is not an e invoice shall not be considered as a valid invoice under GST Law. This is critical both from the Output Point of View as well from Claiming ITC, since ITC cannot be claimed without proper E_invoice, wherever applicable.

Therefore, it is imperative that Trade / Professionals understands fully the impact of the E_Invoice
