A senior doctor at Rajkot’s PDU Civil Hospital was detained after slapping and threatening a female resident doctor during an argument over the treatment of a critically ill patient. Resident doctors protested on August 21, over workplace safety before calling off their strike after filing a police complaint. According to reports, the female doctor brought a critically ill elderly patient to the senior doctor, stating that the patient needed to be shifted to the emergency ward. However, the senior doctor insisted that the patient be shifted to the general ward. The argument over the patient’s treatment escalated from verbal abuse to physical assault, bringing the incident under scrutiny as a serious workplace safety concern
