Engineering New Entrepreneurs(ENE) Program on 27th July (Monday)2015 for 2014 & 2015 passed out SAEINDIA Student Members.

Program Objective:-
ENE Program is a new initiative for fresh Graduates (2014 & 2015 passed out students). This program will give an opportunity and platform for those who are interested to make career by becoming an Entrepreneur.

aSOP-Automotive Student Orientation Program for 5th Semester Students

Greetings from SAEINDIA Southern Section !!!

As you may be aware, SAEINDIA is the largest affiliate of SAE International which is a 110 years old society. Our vision is to advance mobility community to serve humanity. We are a knowledge based society providing life-long learning opportunities in the automotive field. We have programs for practicing engineers, engineering college students and also for school children.

Our recent initiative is automotive student orientation program foundation (aSOP foundation) for third year students. This program prepares engineering college students to excel in the industry by teaching an effective problem solving process through an innovative curriculum combining "instruct and demonstrate" and "observe and discover" methods involving industry and academia.

We have been conducting this program at a research level in a few colleges since 2007. The results have been encouraging and there had been requests from the students as well as the colleges to extend this program to their colleges. Since we were improving the program continuously, we did not extend this program to more colleges.

Now we have reached a level of maturity in course content and delivery mechanism that enables us to scale up this program. The aSOP curriculum is fully developed now and the course will be delivered through a well-established learning management system (LMS). LMS enables us to deliver a significant portion of the program on line. On line delivery improves the learning experience of the students and minimizes the workload of the colleges and SAEINDIA in addition to improving the reach.

SAEISS is going to conduct the Student Convention on 30th & 31st January 2015 at Kalasalingam University, Krishnankoil, Virudhunagar District,Tamilnadu.

Apart from the existing events where the winners of Tier 2 will compete, For the very first time SAEINDIA Southern Section is going to launch & conduct 12 new events in the student convention, all these 12 events are focused on AUTOMOTIVE MANUFACTURING CHALLENGE 2015.

These events are focused to the Nations goal that is “MAKE IN INDIA”. All these 12 events are focused on creating a platform for engineering students to learn & understand the Manufacturing Technology.

3. The team size can be of max 4 members.
4. All the team members must be SAEINDIA member or have applied for it.
5. Registrations fee for each member is Rs. 100/- per competition.
6. Only registered teams are allowed to compete on Student Convention.

Dear Aspiring Engineer,
A new advanced technology called Additive Manufacturing/3D printing (AM/3DP) is transforming engineers. 3D Printing is an innovative manufacturing technology that can transform digital designs into tangible parts in one step without using conventional tools. The International Conference on Additive Manufacturing, 3D Printing, and 3D Scanning (ICAM-3D) is being conducted at Hilton on Feb 5th to 7th, 2015. As part of ICAM-3D, to enable young engineers to use this technology we are conducting a Car Design Challenge in association with SAEINDIA. The shortlisted 10 entries will be converted into 3D printed models. Top 3 teams out of the shortlisted 10 will receive cash awards and the opportunity to present at the ICAM-3D conference. Please find the brochure enclosed and apply for this first of its kind Design Challenge.
Dr. R. Chidambaram, the Principal Scientific Adviser to the Govt. of India is the Chief Guest and shall inaugurate ICAM-3D. The Office of the Principal Scientific Adviser oversees India's National Policy on Additive Manufacturing/3D Printing.
