The Airbus A220 plane, the latest entrant into the aviation market from the Airbus side, is expected to get certified for operation in Russia by the end of 2019.
During MAKS 2019 air show, Julien Franiatte, the head of Airbus in Russia, revealed that Russian aviation authorities are actively cooperating with Airbus to complete all the works by the end of the current year, Russian Aviation Insider reports. The first one to be certified is Airbus A220-300 variant.

The 2019 ranking for the most powerful passports is out and once again, Japan has topped the list. India jumped from the 81st position from last year to the 79th in the new year.
The ranking is based on all the passports of the world according to the number of countries their holders can travel to visa-free.
The data for the ranking is collected from the International Air Transportation Association (IATA) which maintains the world’s largest and most accurate database of travel information.

SpiceJet to launch six new international and domestic flights from Sep 25
Low-cost airline SpiceJet said on Friday it will introduce six new flights to expand its network across domestic and international routes.
The carrier has introduced a second non-stop flight on the Kolkata-Bangkok-Kolkata sector besides enhancing frequencies on the domestic sectors of Kolkata-Chennai and Chennai-Shirdi. The airline will now connect Kolkata and Shirdi with a direct flight via Chennai.
SpiceJet will deploy its fleet of Boeing 737-800 on the new routes. All the new flights introduced will operate daily and are effective from September 25 to October 26 in the summer schedule and then from November 5 onwards.

India's domestic air passenger traffic up 7.9% in June: IATA
India's domestic air passenger traffic rose 7.9 % in June over the year ago period even as the average demand for domestic travel across seven major aviation markets declined in the reporting month to 4.4 % from 4.7 % earlier, IATA said on Thursday.
The overall global passenger traffic (domestic and international), however, rose by 5 % compared to June 2018, said the International Air Transport Association (IATA).

Says Boeing MAX should be certified by the US Federal Aviation Authority
Arun Kumar, Director General Civil Aviation said the next International Civil Aviation audit will to take place soon. He said that they had three meeting with engine manufacturer, Pratt and Whitney on Wednesday. The DGCA also issued a statement, saying that it is safe to travel on the New Engine Option (neo) Airbus 320 (A320neo).
"If at any moment we feel the aircraft is not safe, we will ground the aircraft," Arun Kumar stated.

Air China Airbus A330 Damaged During Fire at Beijing Capital
Air China Airbus A330-300, which was scheduled to fly from Beijing to Tokyo, has suffered considerable damage after smoke from the front part of the cargo area started to emit.
Reportedly, the passengers were boarding the aircraft for departure when the smoke appeared and the crew initiated disembarkation of the passengers who were already inside of the plane.
No injuries were reported, although the aircraft received substantial damage. The cause of the incident is under investigation.

A firefighting Supertanker plane from the US is helping in the Amazon rainforest
Bolivia just got a huge helping hand in the fight to keep raging fires in the Amazon rainforest at bay.
Colorado-based Global SuperTanker sent its Boeing 747-400 firefighting plane to the South American country Friday to conduct firefighting missions over part of Bolivia's portion of the rainforest, the company announced.
The B747-400 SuperTanker is in the category of Very Large Airtankers (VLAT) used for fighting fires. It is capable of dropping around 19,000 gallons of retardant per trip.
