How to Apply for a scholarship?
Scholarships and tuition fee waivers in Finland are offered by the individual universities - there are no governmental scholarships available.

If the university of your choice offers scholarships, remember that they are competitive and will typically only cover your tuition fees partially. You must independently cover your own living costs.

With some universities, you can apply for a scholarship at the same time as you submit your admission application — making it easy to plan your studies and funding together. In other cases, scholarships may become available after you’ve started your studies. These can for example reward your progress, academic success, or even your growing Finnish language skills.

Funding for higher studies, an option

The £2000 prize is given in memory of Caroline Clapham, recognising her contribution to IELTS and the wider field of language testing.

To be eligible, theses must have been written as part of a Master's degree or its equivalent, and must be supported by a letter from the applicant's academic supervisor. The work should be focused on language testing, but need not be IELTS-related.

Submissions are reviewed and evaluated by the IELTS Joint Research Committee using the criteria set out below. The Committee’s decision is final and we reserve the right not to make an award.
