The Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecological Sciences, Saveetha College of Physiotherapy, successfully conducted an insightful webinar on "Exercise is Medicine: Evidence-Based Prescription for Menopausal Women" by Dr. V. Bhavani (PT). The session highlighted the importance of evidence-based exercise in promoting women's health. Around 50 students actively participated, making the session engaging and informative.

Dr. Jeslin G.N, MPT (Urology and Obstetrics), Assistant Professor from the Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecological Sciences, SCPT served as the Resource Person for the webinar "Inside Labour, Beyond Delivery: Mechanism of Labour and Evidence-Based Postnatal Care for Every Birth," organized by the Department of Physiotherapy, School of Health Sciences, The Apollo University, Chittoor, on 04 July 2026. The session reinforced the importance of evidence-based labour and postnatal care in improving maternal and newborn health outcomes, contributing to the global commitment towards SDG 3 – Good Health & Well-being, SDG 4 – Quality Education, and SDG 5 – Gender Equality.

Mr. Rufus secured First Place in the Reel Making Competition conducted in observance of World Drug Abuse Day 2026 at Saveetha College of Occupational Therapy on 26th June 2026. The competition, organized under the theme “The World Drug Problem: Persisting Issues, New Challenges, Innovative Responses,” provided a platform to creatively raise awareness on a significant global health issue.
Under the guidance of Dr. S. Pavithra, this achievement reflects creativity, social responsibility, and effective communication skills.

The Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecological Sciences, Saveetha College of Physiotherapy, conducted a UBA 2.0 Outreach Activity on Postnatal Recovery and Community-Based Women’s Health Rehabilitation Awareness at Molachur Village, Tamil Nadu, on 29th June 2026 in collaboration with UBA 2.0 Camp Tamil Nadu. Under the guidance of PG Shruthi M, along with UG students Shiva Harini, Mahalakshmi, and Manju, the program educated postpartum women on safe recovery after childbirth, pelvic floor health, posture correction, breastfeeding ergonomics, nutrition, and the importance of physiotherapy in restoring functional independence. Participants also received practical guidance on simple exercises, self-care strategies, and recognizing warning signs that require timely medical attention. The awareness camp benefited 10 women by empowering them with knowledge to improve their physical health, prevent postnatal complications, and enhance their quality of life. The initiative reflects the commitment of Saveetha College of Physiotherapy towards achieving the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDG 3: Good Health and Well-being, SDG 4: Quality Education, SDG 5: Gender Equality, and SDG 17: Partnerships for the Goals) through community-based healthcare and health education.
