The Khejri Tree is the State Tree of Rajasthan and is an important species of the arid and semi-arid ecosystems of India.

🔹 Drought- and frost-resistant
🔹 Supports the ecology of the Thar Desert
🔹 Fixes nitrogen and improves soil fertility
🔹 Provides fodder for livestock
🔹 Its nutritious pods are used to prepare the traditional Sangri dish
🔹 Closely associated with the Khejarli sacrifice of 1730, involving Amrita Devi Bishnoi and 362 other Bishnois who sacrificed their lives to protect Khejri trees.
