"Greetings!
I am extremely happy to your team for organizing the much needed workshop on “Assisting language learning” for parents/grand-parents/teachers/educators to help the children in their environment. The first week session by Ms. Sunitha helped to understand the complexities of the language learning process which any child undergoes from their birth. The four planes of development of children were explained well in layman terms. The ease of switching between Tamil and English by the facilitator was helping to overcome language barriers in the group discussions. The facilitator Ms.Sunitha was trying to quote examples of her own students and her rich Montessori school experience of 25 years was shared a little with us. This made us understand the topic a little better.
I wish this workshop is popularized and more parents-to-be and grand-parents or anyone who is a caregiver for a child from birth can attend. This would highly benefit the child and also enrich the capacity of caregivers for a better tomorrow.

Dear Parents,

Giving children experiences beyond just teaching the alphabet and numbers for their holistic development is a challenge many a times for parents.

The Indian Montessori Academy has come up with a Language workshop to aid parents in helping their children in their language development. This workshop will cover the scope of how a parent can help a child at home from speech to enriching vocabulary through to writing and reading, all this without the use of 'Montessori Materials' but adhering to Montessori principles.

As a part of Montessori movement, IMA conducted a workshop for the head of departments of Amelio - a corporate chain of day cares. After hearing the montessori philosophy, they had lot of questions wondering if all this can work in reality.... It was a revealing moment for them to get indulged in Montessori materials like a child and we are sure they are stumped with the gripping activities. We are sure it is going to benefit many children if they adopt montessori for their day cares. We wish them all the best in their new venture.

Curtain raiser for this academic year, we had an enlightening talk on the topic "Education as an aid in the development of reasoning, imagination and values" by Ms. Sunitha Subramaniam, a Montessori an with over two decades in service of the child.

"The course is an insight into educating the minds of children in the 6 yrs to 12 yrs age group. The method helps children build up and deepen their knowledge through experience. They make connections, recognize patterns and use their imagination to explore and experiment with ideas based on their lessons.
This course is like a torch lighting up the path that the adult has to take for guiding the children on their journey of discovering the universe."
Yamini Natarajan - Student of previous batch . Having worked with Montessori Primary children for over a decade she went ahead with doing this course at her 60s to understand the beauty of Montessori Elementary.
