No bread at our usual bakery so I had to bake my own 🍞
Thought of getting a bread slicer online but thankfully didn't 😅
is Ramadan ready and we were there a couple of days ago. Afghanistan chapli kebab & Turkish Islander kebab were starters, especially loved the latter for both presentation and taste.
We had Moroccan spiced beef as a main course - meatballs in a tomato based sauce and served with herbed rice. The other main was Lebanese lemon garlic chicken. Anything with lemon & garlic is irresistible for me. It was served with warm pita bread. So good! Portions are generous!
Zaitoon Ramadan Nights at Zaitoon, ECR.
A little crowded but not suffocatingly so. They have a variety of kebabs, samosas, bites like thread chicken, kunafa chicken & spring rolls. Had a glimpse of the veg section which seemed to have a few paneer items. Then there's live stations with mac& cheese with fried chicken, sumac bread with prawns & more such combos. Wanted the mankeesh but there was a queue for it so we skipped it. And of course, haleem. Also desserts which we didn't attempt to go anywhere near. We got everything packed & brought it home. Tastewise, all fine, worth another trip. If you do go, keep an eye out for the total bill. They added a couple of extra items we had not ordered.
On till the end of Ramzan.

A little crowded but not suffocatingly so. They have lots of starters like different kebabs, Arabian samosas, thread chicken, kunafa wrapped prawns& spring rolls. Wanted the mankeesh but there was a queue for it so we skipped it. And of course, haleem. Also desserts which we didn't attempt to go anywhere near. We got everything packed & brought it home. Blast from the past!
A cake I had baked for a young lady way back in 2011. She sent me this pic yesterday because she wanted a cake with the same star tip icing today.
Heck! I'd completely forgotten about this. The only thing that looked familiar was the writing ✍️
That's why it's good to post stuff on instagram. (Joined insta much later)

Dessert for a crowd - can't go wrong with a trayful of this luscious, fruity liqueur fruit slice.

Chocolate mousse cake. Completely forgot I'd made a similar cake for this gentleman's 80th birthday too!
