THE CHENNAI GLOBAL MUSIC FESTIVAL 2012 PRESENTED BY EXODUS in association with LEMONTREE But when it comes to other genres of music, there is a big void.
Chennai’s is a city that is rich in cultural heritage and is known for its mature attitude towards the performing arts. Chennaiites’ love for music has led to burgeoning of the music industry in the city and it is even said that there is a musician in every household. The annual Margazhi festival is the city’s pride and is a soulful treat for Carnatic music enthusiasts. Adding a discordant note to
this, In Recent years Chennai is never on the itinerary of any of the big international musicians who tour India. Some of the world renowned Artist and Bands toured the country but bypassed Chennai. What Chennai badly needs is a credible music festival that can showcase local and international talent in ways never done before and make a lasting impression on the city and India on the whole. The Chennai Global Music Festival will do just that in January 13th 14th and 15th 2012, It going to reach out to all musicians and music lovers, locally and abroad and give them an experience of a lifetime.
