*ETIQUETTE:*

*1.* Don’t call someone more than twice continuously. If they don’t pick up your call, presume they have something important to attend to;

*2.* Return money that you have borrowed even before the other person remembers asking for it from you. It shows your integrity and character. Same goes with umbrellas, pens and lunch boxes;

*3.* Never order the expensive dish on the menu when someone is giving you a lunch/dinner. If possible ask them to order their choice of food for you;

*4.* Don’t ask awkward questions like ‘Oh so you aren’t married yet?’ Or ‘Don’t you have kids’ or ‘Why didn’t you buy a house?’ Or why don't you buy a car? For God’s sake it isn’t your problem;

*5.* Always open the door for the person coming behind you. It doesn’t matter if it is a guy or a girl, senior or junior. You don’t grow small by treating someone well in public;

*6.* If you take a taxi with a friend and he/she pays now, try paying next time;

*7.* Respect different shades of opinions. Remember what's 6 to you will appear 9 to someone facing you. Besides, second opinion is good for an alternative;

*8.* Never interrupt people talking. Allow them to pour it out. As they say, hear them all and filter them all;

*9.* If you tease someone, and they don’t seem to enjoy it, stop it and never do it again. It encourages one to do more and it shows how appreciative you're;

*10.* Say “thank you” when someone is helping you.

*11.* Praise publicly. Criticize privately;

*12.* There’s almost never a reason to comment on someone’s weight. Just say, “You look fantastic.” If they want to talk about losing weight, they will;

*13.* When someone shows you a photo on their phone, don’t swipe left or right. You never know what’s next;

*14.* If a colleague tells you they have a doctors' appointment, don’t ask what it’s for, just say "I hope you’re okay". Don’t put them in the uncomfortable position of having to tell you their personal illness. If they want you to know, they'll do so without your inquisitiveness;

*15.* Treat the cleaner with the same respect as the CEO. Nobody is impressed at how rude you can treat someone below you but people will notice if you treat them with respect;

*16.* If a person is speaking directly to you, staring at your phone is rude;

*17.* Never give advice until you’re asked;

*18.* When meeting someone after a long time, unless they want to talk about it, don’t ask them their age and salary;

*19.* Mind your business unless anything involves you directly - just stay out of it;

*20.* Remove your sunglasses if you are talking to anyone in the street. It is a sign of respect. Moreso, eye contact is as important as your speech;

*21*. Never talk about your riches in the midst of the poor. Similarly, don't talk about your children in the midst of the barren...or talk about your spouses around those who don't have.

*22*. Lastly, Share a post you learnt from to help others learn too.

*The Rumor Rogues*.
Competing with him/her is hard, but hey! Spreading rumor about that person seems like not bad an idea.

*The Jealous Janks*
We are going to destroy you. Avoid us. Like plague.

*The Judgemental Jerk-heads*
We are poor listeners. We are poor communicators. But, muhaha! We have too much time to worry about things that are none of our businesses.

*The Manipulative Monsters*

*The Criticizing Captains*
Free loser-faultfinder-critic anybody? We are available in plenty.

*The Negativity Ninjas*

*The Life-Sucker Leeches*
Extra straw, anyone? Just found a target. It would be do much fun to suck fun out of its life. Mmm-yumm.

*The Arrogant A-holes*
So what if we are dim-wits? Brute intimidation works!

*The Dishonest D-Bags*
We are the D-bags. We Damage, Destroy, Disfigure. What?

LIFE IS 99% Bliss , 1% Pain :
Mind is always conscious of pain, never conscious of bliss.

If you have a headache you are conscious of it. When you don't have a headache you are not conscious of the well-being of the head.

When the body hurts you are conscious of it, but when the body is perfectly healthy you are not conscious of the health.

This is the root cause of why we feel so miserable: our whole consciousness is focused on pain.

We only count the thorns -- we never look at the flowers.

Nature makes you aware of pain so that you can avoid it.

It is a built-in system. Otherwise, your hand may be burning and you may not be conscious; it will be difficult to survive.

So nature has made it very essential and inevitable that you have to be conscious of the pain.

But nature has no built-in mechanism to make you conscious of pleasure, joy, bliss. That has to be learned, that has to be worked out. That is an art.

From this moment start becoming aware of things which are not natural.

For example, your body is feeling perfectly healthy: sit silently, become conscious of it. Enjoy the well-being. Nothing is wrong -- enjoy it!

Make a deliberate effort to be conscious of it. You have eaten well and the body is satisfied, contented; become conscious of it.

When you are hungry, nature makes you conscious, but nature has no system to make you conscious of when you are satiated; that has to be grown.

Nature need not grow it because survival is all that nature wants; more than that is luxury. Bliss is luxury, the greatest luxury.

If you enjoy the satiation that comes after you have eaten, naturally you know that when you are hungry there will be a little pain... and that is good.

When you have slept a good night's sleep and in the morning you are feeling so fresh and so alive, rejuvenated, naturally if one night you cannot sleep, there will be a little agony, but that is part of the game.

My own experience is that life consists of 99% bliss and 1% pain. But peoples' lives consist of 99% pain and 1% of bliss; everything is upside-down.

*7 SPIRITUAL LESSONS FROM THE CURRENCY INVALIDATION IN INDIA*

*1. Change is Sudden*

Everybody is concerned about the overnight action making high value currency invalid across India. Nobody saw it coming; or was prepared; or had even any idea of its happening.

But there is something else which we know will surely come, but are not sure when, where and how - that is death. And it will come even more stealthily than this!

We had 4 hours advance notice for this - but in death, there will not be 4 seconds. Are we prepared for the secrecy and suddenness in Death?

*2. Value can be Lost in a Second*

We had Lakhs of Rupees in 500 and 1,000 denomination yesterday - but today they are just pieces of paper!

Similarly, all wordly gains - money, wealth, fame, power - not just high currency - will all be worthless for us a second after death.

*3. Don't Bank upon Banks*

Like the ATMs and Banks are closed today, options to do good deeds will close with death. No further good deeds can be done / notes withdrawn by us directly.

We can enjoy the assets we purchased earlier with the 500 / 1,000 currency but can't purchase any new ones now. Similarly, only the lasting assets of good deeds we created will benefit us after death - no new goodness can then be done.

*4. Fakes Will Not Last*

One of the purposes of the action is to deal with fake currency. After this, all fake notes will be out of the system. So will it be with ourselves and our actions...

Let us test ourselves - do we have authentic notes or fakes ones - of success, relations, happiness, even good deeds? Is our life itself authentic or are we living a fake life in a fake world?

*5. Small is Big*

Big deeds run the risk of breeding pride and arrogance. The real gems are the small, quiet, hidden, good deeds that are done with sincerity when no one is looking.

The person with two 100 rupee notes is today richer that the a person with a thousand 500 rupee notes!

*6. Source Matters*

For each of your actions, you shall be questioned and your source / intention seen.

When you go to the Bank to exchange the Rs 500 / 1,000 note, you will be asked for identity / PAN / source of Income.

Similarly when you bring your deeds to the Creator, he will ask for your source / intentions / purpose. Did you do it to be called a generous person? Or to compete with someone? Or only for the will and happiness of God?

Only the last will be valid currency there!

*7. Plan Ahead*

A lot of people are busy worrying and planning what they can do with the invalidated currency now. But it may be too late.

Planning for the Hereafter needs to be start in the Now - with right intention, sincere devotion and regular action. Else it could be too late.

One truck driver was doing his usual load delivery at a mental hospital, by parking his vehicle beside an open drain. He discovered a flat tyre when he was about to return from the mental hospital.

He jacked up the truck and removed the flat tyre to fix the spare tyre.

When he was about to fix the spare tyre, he accidentally dropped all the four bolts in the open drain. As he cannot fish the bolts in the open drain, he started to panic as to what should be done?

Just then, one patient happened to walk past him and asked the driver as to why he was looking troubled. The driver thought to himself, since there is nothing much he can do or this mental joker can. Just to keep the bugging away, the truck driver informed the whole episode to the mental patient and gave a helpless look.

The patient just laughed at the truck driver and said you just cannot even fix such a simple problem? "No wonder you are destined to remain a truck driver for life".

The truck driver was astonished to hear such a compliment from a mental guy. "Here is what you can do" said the mental guy... "take one bolt from each of the remaining three tyres / wheels and fix it on to this tyre. Then drive down to the nearest workshop and replace the missing ones. Isn't it simple my friend".

The truck driver was so impressed with this quick fix answer and asked the patient "How come you are so smart and intelligent and you are here at the mental hospital?"

The patient replied "Hello friend! I stay here because I am crazy, but not stupid".

No wonder, there are some people, who behave like the truck driver, thinking that others are just stupid.

So, guys, though you all are learned and wise, but, just watch out, there could be some CRAZY guys in our professional and personal lives, who could give us lot of quick fixes and brush up our wisdom.

Moral of the story:

Just do not conclude that you know everything and do not judge people by mere looks, their attire stature or their academic background.😊

Looking for Happiness

Once a group of 500 people were attending a seminar.

Suddenly the speaker stopped and decided to do a group activity.

He started giving each person a balloon.

Each person was then asked to write their name on it using a marker pen.

Then all the balloons were collected and put in another room.

The people were then let into that room and asked to find the balloon which had their name written on it within 5 minutes.

Everyone was frantically searching for their name, colliding with each other, pushing around others and there was utter chaos.

At the end of 5 minutes no one could find their own balloon.

Then, the speaker asked each person to randomly collect a balloon and give it to the person whose name was written on it.

Within minutes everyone had their own balloon.

The speaker then began,

"This is happening in our lives. Everyone is frantically looking for happiness all around, not knowing where it is.

Our happiness lies in the happiness of other people.

Give them their happiness; you will get your own happiness.

And this is the purpose of human life...the pursuit of happiness."

Worth a read! 😊

Many hundreds of years ago in a small Italian town, a merchant had the misfortune of owing a large sum of money to the moneylender. The moneylender, who was old and ugly, fancied the merchant’s beautiful daughter so he proposed a bargain. He said he would forgo the merchant’s debt if he could marry the daughter. Both the merchant and his daughter were horrified by the proposal.

The moneylender told them that he would put a black pebble and a white pebble into an empty bag. The girl would then have to pick one pebble from the bag.If she picked the black pebble, she would become the moneylender’s wife and her father’s debt would be forgiven. If she picked the white pebble she need not marry him and her father’s debt would still be forgiven. But if she refused to pick a pebble, her father would be thrown into jail.

They were standing on a pebble strewn path in the merchant’s garden. As they talked, the moneylender bent over to pick up two pebbles. As he picked them up, the sharp-eyed girl noticed that he had picked up two black pebbles and put them into the bag. He then asked the girl to pick her pebble from the bag.

What would you have done if you were the girl? If you had to advise her, what would you have told her? Careful analysis would produce three possibilities:

1. The girl should refuse to take a pebble.

2. The girl should show that there were two black pebbles in the bag and expose the moneylender as a cheat.

3. The girl should pick a black pebble and sacrifice herself in order to save her father from his debt and imprisonment.

The above story is used with the hope that it will make us appreciate the difference between lateral and logical thinking.

The girl put her hand into the moneybag and drew out a pebble. Without looking at it, she fumbled and let it fall onto the pebble-strewn path where it immediately became lost among all the other pebbles.

“Oh, how clumsy of me,” she said. “But never mind, if you look into the bag for the one that is left, you will be able to tell which pebble I picked.” Since the remaining pebble is black, it must be assumed that she had picked the white one. And since the moneylender dared not admit his dishonesty, the girl changed what seemed an impossible situation into an advantageous one.
