The Blobfish thrives under extreme deep-sea pressure (~100× surface levels). It doesn’t rely on a gas-filled swim bladder—instead, its low-density, gelatinous body provides natural buoyancy. With minimal muscle and a lightly built skeleton, it conserves energy while remaining mostly stationary near the seafloor and feeding on benthic invertebrates.
