Pawsitive Christmas...
It's gifting time for the animals....
Cloud No 9 Kennel and Nursing Care is happy to conduct it's first socialising event this Christmas..
What's this Pawsitive Christmas?
Pawsitive Christmas is an event wherein people from all forms of life can come over to our place and gift anything like DOG FOOD,CAT FOOD,PLAY THINGS,CHEWSTICKS,FOOD POUCHES,DOG BED,CAT BED,MEDICINES or even FUND A TREATMENT to our rescued dogs and cats.And also if you wish to give a home for one of our dogs and cats,that's the best gift the dog and cat would get.Also bathing a dog who is sick like having mange makes the animal feel good that he too is as common as others.People can also take the dogs for walks ,baths and get them socialised with all..
Why this Event?
Many animals who are abandoned and left in the street,animals hit by vehicles ,abused come to our place brought in by rescuers who leave them at our place for treatment till they heal completely.We however keep the dogs and cats in good mood by playing soothing music,comforting them, playing with them and taking them for walks everyday.The dogs whatsoever feel little depressed missing their own place and their owners.This takes us time and sometimes the dogs lose their lives because of depression.And rescuers who bring in abandoned dogs don't think about the future of the dog or put in efforts to keep the dog in good mood or come over to see them.So,we take this as a chance on Christmas to gift these rescued dogs and cats with goodies to make them more comfortable, happy and try to get them adopted relieving them of the ownerless pain and depression.
We request each and everyone to come to our place ,spend some time with our rescued animals along with your family,children, friends and if you fall in love with them and want to adopt them,you could do so.

All can come over to our facility directly to give them gifts or if you couldn't to do so ,you can have the gifts dropped at some of our friend's places and they'll get it to us or we could pick up.
Santa Claus will be there to give out goodies to all.
There will also be a small store where we would be selling out goodies wherein the proceeds go to our rescued animals.Come, please do buy them too..This is the time animals can party ....

The eco club of SRM University, Ramapuram organized the first event of the year on Solid waste management with two great speakers Dr. Kurian Joseph, Asst. Professor Environmental studies, Anna University and Dr. P.S Bhaskaran, Director of Morgan Industries Ltd. The speakers presented us various statistical informations on waste management and sustainable development!

Our volunteers start this year on a colourful note. On 9th and 10th of July , an event was organised by a NGO called Bhoomi . The volunteers painted the classrooms and walls of the seva samaj children's home . Hoping the year turns out to be splashing like the start .

In the context of animals, with this world being a dangerous place for them to survive...these happy volunteers proved that animals are in safe place...!
So the volunteers of SRM University's Eco club participated in an event at the Blue Cross, Chennai on March 5th 2015.
They were a part of activities like bathing the dogs which were healthy and diseased, feeding them food and syrups, cleaning their living space and painting the water bowls (with the Sun's heat starting to enervate, it is mandatory to provide water bowls for the thirsty homeless birds and dogs) that will be distributed to several areas of Chennai!

Olive Ridley, an endangered turtle species reach our Chennai shores from December unto March every year with the ocean currents, from as far as the Pacific Ocean. They nest on chennai beaches at night, laying eggs as they have been doing for 180 million years.
Every evening the turtles babies are sent back into the sea near Elliots Beach . These young turtles are the ones which are collected from the beach shore every year and preserved till they turn into babies. It was a very nostalgic to see such small species walk back into the sea.

"When your legs get tired, run with your heart"
The ECO Club members of the SRM University ramapuram campus participated in the RIDLEY RUN '16 organised by tamilnadu wildlife department and ezone. 150 students from our university woke up to a good deed along the shores of the Marina Beach. This proved to be an amazing experience to the participants. 'SAVE A TURTLE' campaign was a great reach.

On 25th September of 2015 the ECO Club - SRM University team has visited the Sadhana Forest in Auroville to learn about various ways of protecting our environment and ecological properties,water irrigation methods and various plantation practices.
It was a great experience for the volunteers to be at such a place where electricity and other modern technologies are very rarely used.
It may help some one!! :)
