🕯️22 June - Day of Remembrance and Sorrow

Today marks one of the most tragic dates in history. Eighty-five years ago, on 22 June 1941, the Great Patriotic War began when N**i Germany and its allies launched an attack on the Soviet Union.

We honor the memory of the millions who lost their lives and pay tribute to the courage, resilience and sacrifice of the Soviet people who defended the Motherland and helped defeat N**ism.

To commemorate this day, Russian House in Chennai inaugurated the photo exhibition "Tragedy. Courage. Feat" from the Victory Museum (Moscow). During the opening ceremony Russian House also joined the "Candle of Remembrance" campaign in memory of the heroes of the Great Patriotic War.

The exhibition features rare photographs, archival documents, front-line letters, posters and artworks that tell the story of the first days of the war and the heroism of the defenders of the Soviet Union.

✅The exhibition is open to visitors until 5 July, Monday to Friday, from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
