IMPORTANT!!

Hi Peeps, there are a few queries that we are getting repeatedly in Pagalguy. So, I try to answer.

1). The waitlist for General category does not have other category students. Similarly, NC-OBC/SC/ST waitlist does not have any other category.

2) "Enclosures" specified in the mail are posted in the doms website. URL:

3) Regarding the approximate waitlist movement, this is the first time DoMS gives the WL to the other candidates who are not selected in the waitlist (and not rejected in the GTPI process). So, we honestly dont have any data to guesstimate the WL progress. I suggest u all to wait for the firs WL update, and from that u can understand the WL progress.

4) Regarding the bank loan, SBI gives something called as "Scholarship loan" for the students of premier institutes such as IITs and IIMs.

Refer (2) Scholar loan scheme. DoMS - IITM is in the "A" category.

The rate of interest is around 9.5%, which is well below the other banks' interest rate. So, make use of it in any of the SBIs near you or SBI in IITM campus. Once u have joined DoMS, there will be a separate session for this process conducted by IIT SBI bank manager. It is a very easy process.

If you are taking loan in the other banks, the fee split up and entire course fee details will be updated in the payment portal. For urgent cases, pls send a mail to [email protected] requesting the same.

Hey there! We request the candidates attending the GT & PI process in Mumbai (April 8-10th) to please bring all required documents as per the cover sheet along with photocopies of the documents. Please understand that we will not be able to help you get photocopies there; the venue and facilities being new to both us and you. We would be running on a very tight schedule with just a couple of Adcom student members and the panel. So we insist you carry all documents and photocopies needed.

We are kick starting the third phase of the GT&PI process in two days, starting from Sunday, at Kolkata. Thanks to the candidates' co-operation and enthusiasm in Chennai and Delhi, the process was smooth in the first two phases.

All the best for all the applicants attending the GT&PI process at IIM Kolkata. We request everyone to bring all the original documents mentioned in the cover sheet along with a photocopy of the documents. Please note that, irrespective of many reminders, a few candidates in Chennai and Delhi did not bring the photocopies. Albeit, we helped them to get the photocopies in Chennai and Delhi. But for Kolkata, kindly note that we will NOT entertain any excuses for photocopy or printouts, as we are in a tight schedule. Pls note that this will also project a wrong image about you among the profs (the Profs stationed in the registration desk are also the Interviewers). So, please co-operate.

The candidates in the afternoon slot on Monday are requested to come early, atleast by 1 PM. We will start the presentation by 1 PM and the GTPI process starts by 1:30 PM, sharp.

GTPI process in Delhi starts from day after tomorrow (18/3/16). All candidates are requested to take the original and a photocopy of the documents mentioned on the cover sheet. we are NOT going to provide any kind of photocopying/printout facilities. please make sure you carry a valid photo identity card.

Memoirs of Group Task and Personal Interview How did they do it?

Regarding the cover sheet which is missing in the post and also in the e-mail, admission office will send the same to all the shortlisted candidates. Pls take a print out of it and bring it along with u for the GTPI.

For the ppl with Chennai as GTPI centre, the softcopy of coversheet is being sent in email now. For others, it will follow soon.

For all the candidates who have Chennai as GTPI centre, emails have been sent to ur referees. The cutoff for referees to respond is 15th Feb, 2016. I would suggest everyone to followup with ur referees and finish it asap.
For candidates, who have GTPI in other cities, pls check with ur referees if they have got any mail regarding it (check spam folder too).

IMPORTANT!!

Dear All,

Many candidates are in doubt if they are selected, or will there be any more shortlist, when will they get the post, etc.

Pls check ur result in www.doms.iitm.ac.in

If the website says that u are selected, U will be getting an email and also a hardcopy of call letter in post. The documents/certificates that u have to bring with u for GTPI is clearly mentioned in that.

However, we will update the list of documents that u need to bring with u soon. Inline to that there is one important thing to note:

If your degree certificate or grade sheet uses percentage (%) then there is no problem. If ur grade sheet has CGPA, make sure u bring ur CGPA-to-percentage conversion certificate from your college. Else the default conversion rate of IITM will be used which is ((CGPA-0.75) X 10) mulitiplied by 10. If u dont have the conversion certificate, follow up with ur college and get it NOW!

Heads up to GTPI:

Congrats again to all those who cracked the first phase. Group Task is similar to Group discussion, but u have to come to a consensus after the discussion as a group. Ur group is expected to give a solution to a problem. The topic will be based on any current affair, so start browsing the business dailies and any good business blogs.

For the PI process, prepare yourself for qtns based on ur Profile and SoP. Mostly, the process is not very tough, but again, it depends on the panel. Be thorough with the basics of the steam U want to have a future with (Operations, Analytics, Finance, Marketing, HR or IT).

Brush ur grad subject basics too.
