All are masters of the moment when there is sufficient time to breathe in.
However, this event – JUST A MINUTE – is an exception.
Here the clock is ticking, get ready. One minute is all you get to prove yourself at SLICEv14plus !!!
Rules for JAM (Just a Minute):
• There can be ONLY two members in a team and no participant can be a member of more than one team.
• There is no restriction on the number of teams from an institution.
• ID cards are a must for all the team members.
• There would be three rounds.
• One minute for each round.
• NOT DEPARTMENT SPECIFIC.

Rules for Ecumenical Trial (Quiz):
• Two or Three members in a team. No participant can be in more than one team.
• No restrictions on number of teams from an institution.
• Teams should strictly adhere to the time limit respectively.
• No communication or exchange of information of any kind is allowed in the hall.
• Required stationery will be provided for the written quiz rounds.

உலகம் தோற்றுவித்த மொழிகளில் முதலிடம் தமிழுக்கு அன்று
மனிதன் அழித்துவரும் மொழிகளில் ஆறாம் இடம் தமிழுக்கு இன்று

விதிமுறைகள்:
• ஒரு குழுவிற்கு இரண்டு நபர்கள் மட்டும் அனுமதிக்கப்படுவர்.
• நிகழ்வுகள் மூன்று சுற்றுக்களாக நடைபெறும்.
• இரண்டு சுற்றுகளில் இருந்து தேர்ந்தெடுக்கப்படும் ஐந்து குழுக்கள் இறுதிப்போட்டிக்குத் தகுதி பெறுவர்.
முதல் சுற்று:-
எண்ணி எழுது…
• கொடுக்கப்பட்ட வினாத்தாளில் உள்ள சரியான விடையை தேர்வு செய்ய வேண்டும்.
• பொதுத் தமிழ் மற்றும் பொது அறிவு வினாக்கள் கேட்கப்படும்.
இரண்டாம் சுற்று:-
புதிராய் புகைப்படம்…
• ஒளித்திரையில் காண்பிக்கப்படும் புகைப்படத்தைக் கொண்டு தமிழ் வார்த்தையைக் கண்டுபிடிக்க வேண்டும்.
இறுதிச் சுற்று:-
இதழ் வழி தமிழ்…
• குழுவில் உள்ள ஒரு நபர் மட்டும் ஐந்து நிமிடம் ஆங்கிலம் இன்றி தமிழில் பேச வேண்டும்.
• பேச வேண்டிய தலைப்பானது குலுக்கல் முறையில் தேர்ந்தெடுக்கப்படும்.
• நடுவரின் தீர்ப்பே இறுதியானது.
Rules:
• Two members per team will be allowed.
• Event has three rounds.
• The qualifying 5 teams will be eligible to attend the final round.
First Round:
Think and write…
• Multiple Choice Question (M.C.Q) round.
• Based on General Tamil and General Knowledge
Second Round:
Photo Riddle…
• Form the Tamil words from the displayed picture(s).
Final Round:
Public Speaking
• One person per team should speak in Tamil for five minutes.
• Topics for the speech will be selected based on lot.
• The jury's verdict is final.

C-Remedy (Circuit Debugging)
That exactly is the concept. You know circuits ?Come crack you technical brain to unravel the mystery behind the bugs in the circuit.
Get bugged or Debug It !
Rules for C-Remedy:
• No of Participants allowed per team: 2
• No restrictions on number of teams from an institution.
• Calculators are allowed
Rounds for Circuit Debugging
Preliminary:
• 25 MCQs (Technical)
• Time Limit: 30mins
Top 5 teams will be selected based on marks secured. If 2 teams secure the same marks, the team which completes with the least duration will be considered.
Finals:
• Circuit with certain number of errors will be given
• The circuits once given will not be changed again.
• Necessary components will be provided.
• The team which debugs the circuit first will be considered as winner.
• The teams will be selected for 2nd and 3rd position similarly.
• If all teams fail to debug the given circuit, the team with the least number of errors will be considered the winner.
• The same rule will be followed for selecting teams for the 2nd and 3rd place.
• Each team will be provided with a sheet of paper to mention the errors in their respective circuit.

Rules for Droid Manoeuvre (Robotics):
• There can be ONLY two members in a team. No two teams can have the same member.
• Any number of teams can participate from the same institution.
• College ID cards are a must for all the team members.
• Line follower should be SELF CONTAINED and not externally operated by wire or radio control.
• Track details:
Width: 3cm
Color: Black
• Two Rounds:
• ONLINE registration only.
• Deviation of track will result in penalty and there will be a time constraint to complete the track.
• The criteria for selection for selection is based on completion of track and/or time
• Verdict of the judge will be absolute.

Paper Presentation
All you need to do is to add fuel to your brain to ideate the ideas that never existed. Come up with a spark of innovation to serve the lives around you. The stage has been set to listen to your words. Hope you fulfill the expectation in the form of PAPER.
Rules for Paper Presentation:
• Maximum 3 members in a team. And no participant can be in more than one team.
• No restrictions on the number of teams from an institution. Inter-College teams are allowed.
• Time duration 10mins (7mins for presentation + 3mins for queries).
• Selected participant should submit two hard copies of the paper on the day of symposium.
• Soft copy should be submitted at the registration desk (CD and PENDRIVE).
• Submitted paper must be in the IEEE TWO COLUMN FORMAT.
• The paper can comprise of a maximum of 10 printed pages and it should be sent as a .PDF or .DOC file.
• The participating teams are expected to mention their full details in the paper (name of the author, respective dept., contact details, name of institution, etc.)
• No PLAGIARISM.
• Paper should be submitted on or before "3/9/2014" via mail ([email protected]).
• Entries after due date WILL NOT be entertained.
• The decision of the judge will be final and binding.
• The selected papers will be intimated on 4/9/2014 by email.
