BHU Alumni in CHENNAI Celebrated Malaviya Jayanthi in a grand style on 25-12-2016 with Prof. Awadh Ram Retired Professor & Dean of Students and VC - Kashi Vidyapeet as the main speaker. The function was attended by 26 alumni and their family totaling 34 persons.

Dear BHU Alumni in CHENNAI and nearby, there will be a get together on December 25, to celebrate Mahamana's birthday called Malaviya Jayanthi. Venue is IAS Officers Mess in SAF games village, next to Koyambedu Bus Stand. Time 5.00 pm. Please reserve this day for this meet.

The programme will end by 12.15 pm followed by a contributory Lunch. Cost Rs 100/= per head.
Please spread this notification to all alumni you may know. We could not send printed invitation to members this time as a consequence of problems due to flooding of my house. Sorry for that.
Please confirm your participation immediately along with number of persons accompanying you, so that we can make proper arrangements for Lunch and avoid wastage as well as shortage. Your cooperation in this regard is highly solicited.

My Dear BHU alumni of Chennai,
I feel sorry that I missed the internet, my PC and lot more of my personal belongings due to the flooding of my house with 42 inches of water inside my house and about six feet of water on the streets on Dec 2 & 3. I was terribly handicapped.
So is the the situation with few other alumni.
As a result of the flood and its aftermath we could not find a place to hold our get together on Dec 25 to celebrate Mahamana's Birthday. We plan to celebrate ce ntenary Foundation Day on Feb 4, 2016. in a befitting manner.

Hats off to this young IIT BHU alumnus (1967 Mechanical Engg. graduate). He is doing BHU proud by his great achievements as a marathon runner even at the age of 70 after a highly valuable service in BHEL as Additional General Manager. Our hearty congratulations and best wishes for a healthy life. We request you to continue this great passion. You are a beacon to youngsters.
