Stop preparing for CAT the wrong way. Most aspirants don’t fail because of low aptitude…They fail because they believe the wrong things about the exam.
The Common Admission Test isn’t just about solving more questions it’s about thinking clearly under pressure.
Here are 7 biggest CAT myths vs reality that could be silently hurting your percentile.

Which IPL player are you in your CAT prep season?
The “Peak Form Topper”?
The “Last Over Pressure Player”?
Or the “All-In No Fear” risk-taker?
Every CAT aspirant has a phase the grind, the burnout, the comeback, the clutch moments. The real question is… which one are you right now?

You start CAT prep all confident…
QA sorted, VARC under control, LRDI looks doable
Then comes your first mock…
and suddenly everything feels like a different exam
That’s the moment where real CAT prep begins.
Stop fearing mocks.
Start learning from them. That’s how 99+ %ilers are made
How was your first mock experience?

Expectation vs Reality of CAT Prep
You start with dreams of 99%ile, perfect schedules, and “this time I’ll be consistent” energy…
But somewhere between VARC confusion, DILR trauma, and QA breakdowns reality hits hard
here’s the truth
Every topper you see once lived THIS exact phase.
Consistency > Motivation.
Mock analysis > Mock scores.
Daily progress > Perfect plans.
So… where are YOU right now in your CAT prep journey?
Expectation mode or Reality mode?
Comment “REALITY” if you relate

3 months gone… and prep hasn’t even started yet.
Jan was for planning.
Feb was for “research”.
March was for I’ll start seriously soon
And now April is here like surprise.
The truth?
CAT isn’t cracked by intentions… it’s cracked by daily ex*****on, mocks, and analysis.
You can’t change Jan–March.
But you can still dominate the next 6 months.
Are you starting today or waiting for another perfect Monday?
Comment 'start' if you’re done procrastinating.

Starting CAT prep in April? This is your unfair advantage.
While most aspirants are still confused,
you can build a strong foundation right now.
No fancy strategies. No overload.
Just the basics done right:
Arithmetic first (Quant basics matter)
Daily reading to strengthen VARC
LRDI practice from PYQs
Revise as you go
Start mocks early (focus on stamina, not scores)
Remember:
April consistency = November confidence
The ones who crack 99 percentile
aren’t smarter, they just start right.

RC accuracy low? Fix this
Stop rushing through passages.
Start reading to understand.
1 passage a day is enough
Focus on quality > quantity
Eliminate, don’t guess
Review every mistake
Accuracy first. Speed later.
Save this for daily VARC practice

Mocks vs Sectionals — Stop choosing one.
Most CAT aspirants treat this like an either/or.
Big mistake.
3 sectionals ≠ 1 full mock.
Because a 40-minute test will never teach you
what happens in the 120th minute of a mock —
when focus drops, pressure builds, and decisions matter most.
Here’s how toppers actually use them:
Sectionals → Build accuracy, fix weak areas, sharpen concepts
Mocks → Build stamina, strategy, time management, exam temperament
You don’t pick one.
You balance both.
Are you overdoing sectionals or avoiding mocks?

Stop restarting and start retaining.
Most CAT aspirants fail not because they don't understand the concepts, but because they don't keep them. Learning a new topic is only 50% of the work. The other 50% is making sure it’s still in your head on exam day.
If you are learning 20 new topics but forgetting 15 of them by next week, you are working hard but going nowhere.
Break the cycle:
Learn it today.
Review it tomorrow.
Solve a problem on it in 3 days.
Spaced repetition is the only way to turn hard concepts into easy marks. Consistency beats intensity every single time.

IPL or CAT?
One gives you instant dopamine… the other builds your future.
Every year, the same dilemma hits harder when prep season overlaps with peak distractions.
But remember your percentile won’t improve by refreshing scores every 5 minutes.
The real flex?
Staying consistent with your CAT prep even when everything else is tempting you.
Because while others watch the match…
you’re playing the long game.
So what’s it gonna be today?

Think you’ve started CAT prep?
Or are you just feeling productive?
Most aspirants don’t fail because of lack of effort…
They fail because of these 4 silent mistakes
Stop Making These CAT Prep Mistakes!
The CAT game isn’t about grinding harder — it’s about playing smarter.
No Roadmap = No Direction
Without a plan, you’re just busy… not improving.
Weak Basics = Future Struggle
Strong basics = easy wins in tough questions.
Mocks Later Myth
There is no perfect time to start mocks.
Start early. Learn fast. Improve faster.
Remember:
It’s not about how many hours you study…
It’s about how many mistakes you avoid.
