A whale of a time with Grade 5 🐋🎨
In our “Whale of a Time” lesson, students explored interesting facts about whales and brought their learning to life through art. They began by sketching their own whales, then used watercolours to paint them.

Each artwork was unique, expressive, and full of creativity.

An afternoon of ideas, questions, and conversations inspired by Shilpa Gupta’s practice.
From interactive exercises to deep discussions, this workshop invited young minds to think beyond boundaries and see art as a way of understanding the world.

Facilitated by Blaise Joseph and Sara Vetteth.

Art, conversations, and collective curiosity 🌿

Our RainbowFish team & collaborators spent an inspiring time at the Kochi Biennale — exploring spaces, stories, and practices that expand how we see and think.

Grateful for the people, the perspectives, and the shared moments of learning. 💛

Another book launch for Art Adventures — this time with the young artists at the Madras Club ✨
What a fun morning introducing them to the first book in our Art Adventures series! The room was filled with creativity, curiosity, and excitement from start to finish.
We absolutely loved the variety of suns created — each one uniquely brought to life using warm colours. The highlight of the session was our innovative instant pop-up art gallery 🌞🎨
While these books are designed as workbooks for primary school children, they also make wonderful gifts for the young artist in your life.
You can grab your copy at bookstores or on Amazon.

It was truly impressive to witness the commitment that Delhi Public School demonstrates in upholding the highest standards of education across all subjects including art. The RainbowFish Studio team felt honoured to be invited to participate in a two-day conference for their art educators.

Our Founder, Sara, along with senior RainbowFish educators Nivedha (Head of Curriculum) and Jeena (Senior Art Teacher), worked closely with art teachers from across the DPS network to explore how art can be positioned in schools as a structured discipline with clear learning outcomes, progressive skill development, and intentional lesson planning.

Together, we discussed how art classrooms can move beyond unstructured activities to build real competencies in drawing, composition, colour, form, and visual expression across grade levels.

It was incredibly inspiring to engage with such committed educators who are shaping the way art is taught in schools.

Thank you, Delhi Public School, for the invitation and for creating space for these important conversations around art education.

Sylvaine de Gantes, a Grade 1 art teacher in Singapore, shares how the workbook has made lesson planning easier, helped her prepare confidently for class, and supported her in introducing young students to important artists while teaching the fundamental art concepts they need at this stage.

Hearing this from a practising classroom teacher is the feedback we value most because Art Adventures was built to support real teachers in real classrooms.

These mammoths are the work of the artist Nick Cave and are just one component of a monumental show at the Smithsonian American Art Museum in which the artist catalogs and transforms thousands of objects of American life.

“Mammoth,” which opened February 13, is the institution’s largest commission by a single artist to date. The show calls into question how history is formed and what is buried or excavated, particularly with the symbolism of the titular creature.

“I’m witnessing a time where history is being erased, but yet history is being revealed at the same time,” Cave told CNN.
